The camera features pan and tilt capabilities, enabling users to adjust the viewing angle. It includes a light sensor, infrared LEDs for night vision, a camera lens, a microphone, and a speaker for two-way audio communication. An antenna facilitates Wi-Fi connectivity, and an Ethernet port is available for an optional wired connection to the router. The camera also includes LED indicators to show its status, a micro SD card slot for local video storage, and a 3.5mm line jack for connecting an external audio output device. A pair/reset button is provided for pairing and resetting the device.

    • Ensure wireless connection is secure by using "WPA2-PSK with AES" encryption.
    • Change default wireless router settings, including SSID and passwords, to unique and strong passwords (at least 10 characters, complex, no dictionary words or personal info, mix of uppercase, lowercase, special characters, and numbers).
    • Keep devices up to date by downloading security patches and enabling automatic updates.
    • Disable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) on the router to enhance firewall effectiveness.
    • Provides external resources from FCC, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and Wi-Fi Alliance for more information on wireless connections and data protection.
  • Micro SD Card Handling: Prior to inserting or ejecting the micro SD card, the camera must be powered off by unplugging it from the power supply to prevent data corruption or damage.
  • Optimal Placement: Before installation, test Wi-Fi signal strength in selected monitoring areas using a mobile device. Adjust the distance between the camera unit and the Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength if needed, considering environmental factors like distance and internal walls.
  • Power Adapter Usage: Use only the VTech-supplied power adapter. Connect the adapter in a vertical or floor mount position only, ensuring it's not connected to ceiling, under-the-table, or cabinet outlets, as the prongs are not designed to hold the camera's weight. Keep the camera unit and power adapter cord out of reach of children.
