Overview

The WAFERLOCK WEL-7103 Duo Electronic Lock is a versatile access control device designed for security and convenience. It offers dual access methods, allowing users to unlock the door using either a user code or a user card.

Function Description:

The WEL-7103 operates as a 2-in-1 lock, providing access through both user codes and user cards. It supports Mifare Classic and any ISO 14443A transponder cards, with a reading distance of up to 3cm. The lock features a backlit LED keypad for visibility in low-light environments and emits an acoustic warning beep when the battery power is low. It can store a total of 250 user codes and user cards. User codes can be 4 to 6 digits long, and the default Master Code is 123456, which can also be 4 to 6 digits. The lock supports an external power supply kit via USB for backup power.

The WEL-7103 offers adjustable opening modes to suit various security needs:

  • Standard + Single Mode: The lock opens for 6 seconds and then automatically closes. This is the manufacturer's default setting.
  • Standard + Toggle Mode: The lock switches between "one time to open" and "one time to lock" with each valid access.
  • Toggle + Single Mode: The lock switches between "always open" and "always close" with each valid access.
  • Toggle + Dual Mode: Requires both a valid user card and a valid user code to switch between "always open" and "always close."
  • Dual Mode: Requires a valid user card to be flashed, followed by entering a valid user code to access the lock. This mode is suitable for high-security areas like bank office doors.
  • Single Mode: The lock opens for 6 seconds and then closes.

Usage Features:

Changing Master Code:

  1. Press *0#.
  2. Enter the Default Master Code (123456) and press #. A correct entry results in one beep and a green LED flash; incorrect entry results in two beeps and a red LED flash.
  3. Enter the NEW Master Code (4-6 digits) and press #. If the code is less than 4 digits or already exists, two beeps and a red LED flash occur. If learned successfully, one beep and a green LED flash.
  4. Re-enter the new 4-6 digits. If the codes match, one beep and a green LED flash; if not, two beeps and a red LED flash.
  • The Master Code can be used to open the door if no user codes/cards are learned or if all users are deleted. Once a new user is learned, the Master Code cannot be used to open the door until all users are deleted again.

Adding New User:

  1. Press *1#. If 250 users are already learned, two beeps and a red LED flash.
  2. Enter the Master Code and press #.
  3. To learn a new user card: Induct the new user card to the reader. If the card is learned successfully, one beep and a green LED flash. If the card already exists, two beeps and a red LED flash.
  4. To learn a new user code: Enter 4-6 digits (0-9 only, no * or #) for the user code. If less than 4 digits or if the code already exists, two beeps and a red LED flash. If learned successfully, one beep and a green LED flash.
  5. Re-enter the 4-6 digits. If codes match, one beep and a green LED flash; if not, two beeps and a red LED flash.
  • When learning a new user, a 3-digit "serial number" (001, 002, 003...) is created. This serial number is needed for deleting individual users. A "Serial No. / Name List" is provided at the end of the manual for recording these numbers.

Deleting Single Existing User:

  1. Press *2#.
  2. Enter the current Master Code and press #.
  3. Enter the existing 3-digit serial number (001-250). If less than 3 digits, two beeps and a red LED flash. If the serial number does not exist, it's treated as a successful deletion (one beep, green LED flash). If correct, the user is deleted (one beep, green LED flash).
  • Deleting a user leaves their serial number blank, which will be filled by the next learned user. Other users' serial numbers do not change.

Deleting All Existing Users (Reset to Default):

  1. Press *3#.
  2. Enter the current Master Code and press #.
  3. Re-enter the Master Code and press #.
  • This action returns the lock to its manufacturer default settings, including resetting the Master Code to 123456. If the lock was in Dual Mode or Toggle Mode, it will revert to Standard Mode (6 seconds to lock after opening).

Setting Opening Modes:

  • Set as Toggle Mode: Press *4#, then enter Master Code and #.
  • Set as Standard Mode: Press *5#, then enter Master Code and #. After setting, if the lock is opened, it will automatically re-lock.
  • Set as Dual Mode: Press *6#, then enter Master Code and #. This mode requires both a valid user card and user code for access.
  • Set as Single Mode: Press *7#, then enter Master Code and #.

Opening the Door:

  • By User Card: Approach the reader with a valid user card. A legal card results in one beep and a green LED flash for 1 second. An illegal card results in two beeps and a red LED flash.
  • By User Code: Press *, then enter the learned user code, and press #. If less than 4 digits or if the code already exists (incorrect entry), two beeps and a red LED flash. If the code is learned, one beep and a green LED flash for 1 second.
  • If a user card is approached while entering a user code, the lock will prioritize and react to the user card first.

Maintenance Features:

Resetting Master Code (without deleting users):

  1. Hold * and # buttons simultaneously.
  2. Remove the battery case from the lock.
  3. Reinstall the battery case.
  4. The Red & Green LEDs will blink.
  5. Enter a valid user code or flash a valid user card.
  6. After a long beep, the Master Code will be reset to its default value: 123456.
