    • D
      Darren BenjaminAug 13, 2025
If your Wallenstein Chippers/Shredders machine requires excessive power or stalls, first, clear any debris from the discharge chute. Try feeding smaller amounts of material or feeding larger material slowly into the chipper hopper. Inspect and clear the chipper hopper lower rotor housing and rotor. If you are processing green material, allow it to dry or alternate between dry and wet material. Ensure the chipper blade clearance is set to 1/32 to 1/16 " (.76 - 1.52 mm), using a chipper clearance tool if needed, and rotate, sharpen, or replace the blade if it's dull.

If your Wallenstein Chipper requires excessive power or stalls, several factors could be at play. First, check for and clear any obstructions in the discharge chute. Reduce the amount of material you're feeding into the chipper hopper, and if the material is large, feed it slowly. Inspect and clear the chipper hopper, lower rotor housing, and rotor for any blockages. If you're chipping green material, allow it to dry or alternate between dry and wet material. Ensure the chipper blade clearance is correctly set to 1/32 to 1/16 " (.76 - 1.52 mm), utilizing a chipper clearance tool if needed. Finally, make sure your blades are sharp; rotate, sharpen, or replace them if they're dull.
