What to do if the W&H Steriliser door won't open after cycle?
    • A
      agrantAug 19, 2025
If your W&H Steriliser displays 'Open the door' at the end of the cycle but you can't open it, there might be a vacuum in the chamber due to an internal malfunction. In this case, switch the steriliser OFF to release any internal pressure, which should allow the door to open. If the issue continues, contact technical service. Alternatively, the bacteriological filter may be blocked. Remove the bacteriological filter to release the pressure and replace the filter. Remember to replace these filters every 400 cycles.

Why does W&H Steriliser door open immediately after locking?
    • K
      Kerry OchoaAug 21, 2025
If, when starting a cycle, the chamber door of your W&H Steriliser locks and then immediately re-opens, displaying the message 'Open the door', it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, check that the door seal is correctly and evenly inserted around the entire circumference. A seal that is sticking out can cause this issue. Second, ensure that nothing is obstructing the door, either external objects or the load itself. Remove any obstructions and make sure the door isn't pressing against the load or any of the chamber furniture.

    • M
      Michael BrowningAug 25, 2025
If you notice corrosion or spots on instruments after using your W&H Steriliser, several factors could be at play. Ensure instruments are completely dry before placing them in the sterilizer. Avoid using tap water or water of poor quality; instead, use good quality water. Also, make sure instruments are free from organic or chemical residues by cleaning, rinsing, and drying them beforehand. Keep the chamber, trays, and chamber rack clean. Lastly, prevent contact between instruments made of different materials by placing them on separate trays or in pouches.

      Joshua HodgesAug 26, 2025
If, at the end of a cycle, you find residual water in the chamber of your W&H Steriliser, several factors could be the cause. Ensure the sterilizer is properly leveled. Avoid overloading the chamber, and always adhere to the maximum load weight limits for each load type, utilizing the chamber rack for trays and cassettes. Check the chamber filter for clogs and clean it if necessary. Also, verify that the chamber filter cap is correctly positioned. Finally, ensure the load is placed correctly within the chamber.

    • J
      Jack TuckerAug 28, 2025
If water is leaking at the front of your W&H Steriliser, it could be due to a leak through the chamber door seal. Try cleaning or replacing the door seal, and also clean the chamber face side. If the leak persists, it might be an internal leak, and you should call technical service.

Why is W&H Steriliser sterilization cycle taking longer?
    • A
      Allen HancockAug 30, 2025
If the sterilization process phase of a sterilization cycle on your W&H Steriliser was longer than expected, it could be because the chamber temperature dropped below the minimum threshold, and the software successfully recovered. Allow the cycle to complete. However, if this occurs frequently, it's recommended to contact technical service.
