What causes Webster JB2 to stay at low fire?
    • A
      Ashley ChanSep 7, 2025
If the Webster Burner stays at low fire, it could be due to the manual pot being in the low fire position (low fire hold), so you should readjust it to the high fire position. The manual-auto switch or low fire hold switch might be in the wrong position, so change the position of the switch. Issues with the Modulating Control or Lo-Hi-Lo Control can also cause this, so check the wiring or replace them. A loose linkage might be the cause, so readjust and tighten it. Binding linkage or valve could also be the problem, so readjust or replace them.

Why I cannot obtain capacity on gas in Webster JB2?
    • J
      jeremy33Sep 12, 2025
If you cannot obtain capacity on gas with your Webster Burner, it could be due to several factors related to gas supply and components. A wrong spring range in the regulator might be the cause, so install a higher spring range. Too many elbows before the control valve can restrict flow, so rework the piping to reduce elbows. If the gas line is too small, resulting in a high pressure drop, use a larger pipe size. A supply pressure lower than stated can also limit capacity, so increase the supply pressure. If the supply pressure drops too low at high fire, use larger gas line sizes or a larger orifice in the service regulator. Finally, the regulator might be too small for the flow and pressure requirements, so change the regulator.

Why I cannot obtain rated input on oil firing (pressure atomized) in Webster JB2?
    • J
      jerryevansSep 14, 2025
If you cannot obtain the rated input on oil firing (pressure atomized) in your Webster Burner, it may be because the oil nozzles are plugged or the by-pass seal on the nozzle is leaking, in both cases you should replace the nozzles.

Why I cannot obtain rated input on oil firing (pres. atom.) (con’t) in Webster Burner?
    • J
      Jennifer GreenSep 15, 2025
If you're still unable to reach the rated input on oil firing (pressure atomized) in your Webster Burner, check if the oil pressure is too low and increase it. Also, ensure that the flow valve is not set too low; it should be closed at high fire, so adjust the oil control valve.

Why I cannot obtain rated input on oil firing (air atomized) in Webster JB2 Burner?

      Jacob HoodSep 17, 2025
If you cannot obtain the rated input on oil firing (air atomized) in your Webster Burner, the oil nozzles might be plugged, so clean the nozzle. If the air pressure is too low, replace the nozzle. Also, check if the oil pressure is too low and increase the oil pressure. Finally, ensure the flow valve is not set too low and adjust the oil control valve.

Why I cannot obtain NOx levels on gas in Webster JB2?
    • A
      Alexander RodriguezSep 22, 2025
If you're unable to obtain the desired NOx levels on gas with your Webster Burner, several factors could be at play. Ensure the FGR valve is fully open by adjusting it. If the FGR valve is full of condensate, clean the duct and add drains. If the FGR duct is not directed to the flue stream, add an angle cut in the center of the stack. If the FGR line is too small, check the sizing and use fittings with less drop. Verify that you are operating on the correct gas type (natural gas, not propane); if using propane, resize the FGR for propane operation. Finally, ensure the shutoff valve is fully open by checking its position.
