Why does my Webster SC shut down during operation?
    • M
      Matthew RobertsonAug 21, 2025
Your Webster Burner might shut down during operation due to several reasons. Check for loose electrical connections and tighten them. Make sure that there is enough fuel supply. Also, the limit switch might be breaking (opening); in this case, you should readjust it.

How to fix no ignition on a Webster SC Burner?
    • S
      Sabrina HoganAug 25, 2025
If your Webster Burner has no ignition, it could be due to several reasons. The electrode might be grounded because the porcelain is cracked (in this case, replace it). Another reason might be a loose ignition wire connection (reconnect or tighten it). It can also be caused by a defective ignition transformer (check the transformer and replace it if needed) or a burned ignition wire (replace the ignition wire and increase air).

Why fuel-air ratios are not consistent in my Webster SC?
    • H
      heatherbarrettAug 26, 2025
Inconsistent fuel-air ratios in your Webster Burner can stem from several issues: a plugged fuel line (check and clean lines, strainers, and filter), changing fuel supply pressure (check and/or replace the pressure regulator), a changed combustion air temperature (retune the burner), a changed draft condition (check draft and outlet damper), a gas control valve low fire stop not set (if used, adjust low fire stop), or no back pressure (decrease the stack exhaust area).

What to do if there is no main gas flame in Webster Burner?
    • K
      kwilsonAug 28, 2025
If there is no main gas flame in your Webster Burner, the possible causes include a weak scanner signal (clean the scanner lens and tube), an incorrect damper or fuel control valve setting (readjust it), or fuel valve(s) not opening (check the wiring to the valves).

Why have fuel-air ratios changed over time in my Webster SC Burner?
    • J
      Jennifer GonzalesAug 30, 2025
If the fuel-air ratios in your Webster Burner have changed over time, consider these possible causes: a worn air damper seal (replace the air damper seals), plugged fuel lines (check and clean lines, strainers, and filters), a worn fuel control valve (replace the fuel control valve), plugged gas orifices or gas manifold (clean and/or replace), changed combustion air temperature (retune burner), changed draft condition (check draft and outlet damper), or a plugged vessel (clean vessel).

Why is my Webster SC causing oil combustion smoking?
    • W
      williemcmillanSep 1, 2025
Oil combustion smoking in your Webster Burner can be caused by: * A dirty or plugged oil nozzle (clean oil nozzle). * Improper excess air (readjust excess air). * Input too low for burner components (check input, compare to rating label). * High stack draft (especially at low fire) - stabilize draft. * Incorrect nozzle position (adjust the nozzle to diffuser position). * Fluctuating oil pressures (regulator not holding) - check regulator pressure and oil supply. * Poor air flow distribution (off center flame) - adjust air straightener blade.

What causes no main oil flame in a Webster SC Burner?
    • T
      Thomas HamiltonSep 3, 2025
If your Webster Burner has no main oil flame, it could be due to a weak scanner signal (clean the scanner lens and tube), an incorrect damper or fuel control valve setting (readjust it), fuel valve(s) not opening (check wiring to valves), an obstructed oil nozzle or line (check nozzles and lines, clean), no atomizing air pressure (check compressor wiring), compressor pressure being too low or high (readjust), or the burner not being level, causing oil to drain into the vessel (check level, adjust as required).

Why is there gas combustion noise in my Webster SC?
    • P
      patrickholmesSep 5, 2025
Gas combustion noise in your Webster Burner can be attributed to several factors: input being too low for burner components (check input, compare to rating label), improper excess air (readjust excess air), fluctuating gas pressure (regulator not holding pressure) - check regulator pressure and supply, high stack draft (especially at low fire) - stabilize draft, or flame instability (add primary fuel).

    Danielle JamesSep 7, 2025
Why does my Webster SC stay at low fire?
    • M
      Mitchell RamosSep 7, 2025
If your Webster Burner remains at low fire, it could be due to the manual pot being in the low fire position (low fire hold) - readjust to high fire position. Alternatively, the manual-auto switch or low fire hold switch might be in the wrong position - change the position of switch. A modulating control issue (check wiring or replace) might also be the cause.

What causes high CO at low fire in a Webster SC Burner?
    • P
      Peggy WoodsSep 9, 2025
High CO at low fire in your Webster Burner can occur due to improper excess air level (readjust excess air), input being too low for burner components (check input, compare to rating label), high stack draft (especially at low fire) - stabilize draft, or fluctuating gas pressure (regulator not holding pressure) - check regulator pressure, sensing line and supply pressure: sized properly.
