How to fix illumination spot too high on Welch Allyn LumiView Microscope?
If the illumination spot is too high and out of the field of view on your Welch Allyn Microscope, ensure you are 14” to 16” from the patient or object under inspection. If you are too close, the illumination spot will be too high. Also, make sure the optical section is aligned with your eyes by looking into the instrument while it's on. Your eyes should be centered vertically on the center mirrors. To correct this, loosen the screw on the back of the optical section and adjust it up or down until the image is centered.
What to do if Welch Allyn LumiView Microscope has glare?
If you're encountering glare off the pneumatic insufflation system of your Welch Allyn Microscope, clean the glass section with an alcohol swab or clean cotton cloth. You can also rotate the pneumatic assembly until the glare dissipates.
How to use bifocals with Welch Allyn Microscope?
To utilize bifocals with your Welch Allyn Microscope, install the bifocal lenses so that only the upper third is for distance and the lower two-thirds are for reading. Adjust the nose bridge so that the frame sits higher on your nose, then lower the height adjustment. This ensures the binocular viewing system is positioned in front of the reading part of the lenses.
