This document is a Quick Start Guide for the Westcott 18" Ring Light Kit.

Function Description

The Westcott 18" Ring Light Kit is a portable lighting solution designed for various photographic and videographic applications. It provides continuous, adjustable illumination, ideal for portraits, vlogging, and other close-up work. The ring light design helps create an even, flattering light with a distinctive catchlight in the subject's eyes. It can be powered by either an AC power supply for studio use or NP-F Series batteries for on-location shoots, offering versatility and portability.

Usage Features

Versatile Powering: Can be operated using the included AC power supply for continuous studio use or with two NP-F Series batteries for portable, DC-powered operation. Note that DC operation requires two charged batteries connected simultaneously.
Adjustable Brightness: The light output can be precisely adjusted from P-00 (low) to P-100 (high) using the dimming knob in "Light Output Mode."
Variable Color Temperature: Offers a wide color temperature range from 3200K (warm) to 5600K (daylight), adjustable in 100K steps, allowing users to match ambient light or achieve specific creative effects. This is controlled via the dimming knob in "Color Temperature Mode."
Accessory Mounting: Equipped with multiple mounting options, including cold shoe mounts and 1/4"-20 threads, to easily attach accessories such as mobile device mounts, gooseneck arms, and swivel mounts.
Easy Setup: Designed for quick attachment to the included 5.75' light stand. The tilter bracket allows for easy adjustment of the ring light's angle.
Intuitive Controls: Features an On/Off switch and a dimming knob that cycles through different modes (Light Output, Color Temperature, Battery Status) with a press, and adjusts settings with a turn.
Battery Status Indicator: The LED display panel shows the battery status, indicating "FULL" when fully charged, and a range from E-00 (low) to E-10 (high) for other charge levels. The unit automatically turns off when batteries are depleted (E-00).
Portability: Comes with a carry case for convenient transport and storage.

Maintenance Features

Battery Charging: The kit includes a battery charger for the NP-750 batteries. Battery charge time is approximately up to 6 hours.
Safety Precautions:
- Only use the included AC power supply and power cord.
- Only use NP-F Series batteries of the same capacity (7.4V-12V).
- Ensure both batteries have the same state of charge when mounted; avoid mixing fully-charged and partially depleted batteries.
- Always remove batteries during storage or transport to prevent accidental operation and overheating.
- Keep away from fire and water; do not submerge.
- Do not force electrical connections.
- Avoid overtightening mounting and tilting knobs or accessories to threads/cold shoes.
- Do not attempt to open or modify the Ring Light.
Warranty: The product comes with a ONE (1) YEAR limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. The warranty does not cover damage from accidents, abuse, misuse, external causes (flood, fire, earthquake, mold), operation outside intended uses, unauthorized modifications, or cosmetic damage.
Repair Service: Users are advised to contact Westcott's Repair Department for a Return Authorization Number (RMA) before sending items for warranty service.
