cutlass
bearing,

the hard
calcium deposit can damage
the
bearing
surface.
This is
normally
associated
with noise
and
vibration from
the
bearing area. lf this happens, stop
the
engine
immediately
and
investigate. The
deposit can be
removed with
a sharp
scraper. To
gain
access
to the
bearing area, uncouple
the
propeller
shaft at
the
engine and
slide
it
back
untilthe
affected area is
exposed.
