Why won't my White Outdoor 393 Tiller start?
    • J
      Jesus DavisJul 26, 2025
Your White Outdoor Tiller might not start due to several reasons: the fuel tank could be empty or contain stale fuel—fill it with fresh gasoline, using a fuel stabilizer if storing for more than 30 days. The throttle control lever might be in the wrong position; move it to the start position. A clogged fuel line could also be the culprit—clean the fuel line. Ensure the switch is in the ON position and the spark plug wire is connected. Lastly, the spark plug might be dirty; clean, adjust the gap, or replace it.

What to do if my White Outdoor 393 Tiller engine runs erratically?
    • R
      Ryan LarsonAug 2, 2025
If your White Outdoor Tiller engine is running erratically, there are several possible causes. Ensure the choke lever is in the OFF position, as running on CHOKE can cause this issue. Check the spark plug wire to make sure it is securely connected and tightened. A clogged fuel line or stale fuel could also be the problem; clean the fuel line and refill the tank with fresh gasoline, using a fuel stabilizer if storing for more than 30 days. Additionally, a plugged vent or dirt in the fuel system might be the cause; clear the vent and drain/refill the fuel tank.

      caitlynharrisonAug 9, 2025
Your White Outdoor Tiller engine might be overheating because the oil level is low; fill the crankcase with the proper oil. Another potential cause is a dirty air cleaner. Also, the carburetor might not be adjusted properly; adjust the carburetor as instructed in the separate engine manual.

How to fix tines that won't engage on my White Outdoor 393?
    • R
      Renee HernandezAug 18, 2025
If the tines on your White Outdoor Tiller are not engaging, check for a foreign object lodged in the tines and dislodge it. Also, check for missing clevis pins and replace them if necessary. Other possible causes are: belt and idler not in correct adjustment (take unit to authorized service dealer), control cable not adjusted properly (adjust control cable - see assembly instructions), or a worn/stretched belt (replace belt).
