After
you
finish sewing the
above stitches, check
if
the
upper
and
lower thread
tensions are equal and strong
enough to lock both
threads
in center
as
in figure
®.
If upper
tension
is too
tight,
upper thread lies straight
along
upper surface of fabric
. If lower tension is too
tight
lower
thread lies straight
along lower surface of fabric
©.
Correct
by
turning tension
dial in the direction
of arrow.
+ Always check the balance
of
upper and lower
tensions
by
test
sewing
using fabric, needle,
thread and
stitch pattern
you
plan to use (See page
20>.
