DESCRIPTION BEHAVIOR
Electric brake coil driver is shorted or open cir-
cuit, always disengaged - (LH Node 4,
RH Node 3)
Truck regens to stop, and traction disabled once stop-
ped. Hydraulic functions are
allowed.
Probable Causes and Test Procedures
1. Verify brake not engaged and truck is disabled
YES- Proceed to step 2.
NO- Brake is engaging, see other codes before troubleshooting this code.
2. Is the brake disengaging immediately after key on?
YES- Proceed to step 4.
NO- Controller not at fault, proceed to step 3.
3. Check Brake Coil:
a. Remove brake coil connections (CPS24 RH Traction, CPS26 LH).
b. Measure across coil connections (Pin 1 & 2) of electric brake and ensure coil resistance is between
8 and 12 Ohms.
YES- Proceed to step 5.
NO- Replace electric brake.
4. Check controller operation:
a. Is the line contactor pulling in?
b. Do the hydraulic valves function?
YES- Controller output bank OK, proceed to step AC
NO- Output bank of controller faulted, replace controller, contact Service Engineering.
c. Check for short from controller Pin 4 to B− terminal.
YES- Internal control fault, replace controller contact Service Engineering.
NO- No controller fault exists, proceed to step 5.
