DESCRIPTION BEHAVIOR
Controller has indicated internal temperature ex-
ceeds 85°C or is lower than -40°C
Maximum current limit will be linearly reduced until
temperature returns below thresholds.
Probable Causes and Test Procedures
1. Verify actual controller temperature is as indicated by the display:
a. Using display diagnostics or PC Service tool, is the temp > 85°C or < -40°C.
YES- Proceed to step 1b.
NO- Check other controllers for over-temperature conditions.
b. Do these temperatures seem reasonably accurate? (Temp probe test or environment)
YES- Allow vehicle to cool down / warm up until temperatures within -40 to 85°C & retest.
NO- Internal temp sensor damaged, change controller.
Refer to Diagrams section for given controller node indicated.
