1. Check:
• Piston wall
Vertical scratches → Replace the piston
and piston rings as a set.
2. Measure:
• Piston outside diameter a
Out of specification → Replace the pis-
ton.
Piston outside diameter a:
85.915–85.930 mm
(3.3825–3.3831 in)
Measuring point b:
10.0 mm (0.39 in)

• Piston pin boss bore diameter a
Out of specification → Replace the pis-
ton.
NOTE:
When measuring the piston pin boss bore, do
not measure it at the oil grooves b or ring
groove c.
Piston pin boss bore diameter a:
22.004–22.015 mm
(0.8663–0.8667 in)
