    • F
      franklinjenniferJul 27, 2025
There are several reasons why your Yard Machines Tiller engine might fail to start. It could be due to a disconnected spark plug wire (connect it to the spark plug), an empty or stale fuel tank (fill it with clean, fresh gasoline), the throttle control lever not being in the correct starting position (move it to the start position), the choke not being in the ON position (move the switch to ON), a blocked fuel line (clean the fuel line), a faulty spark plug (clean, adjust the gap, or replace it), or a flooded engine (wait a few minutes to restart, but do not prime).

If your Yard Machines Tiller engine runs erratically, it might be due to a loose spark plug wire (connect and tighten it), the unit running on CHOKE (move the choke lever to the OFF position), a blocked fuel line or stale fuel (clean the fuel line and fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline), a plugged vent (clear the vent), water or dirt in the fuel system (drain the fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel), or a dirty air cleaner (clean it following the engine manual). For carburetor adjustments, please refer to the engine manual.

What to do if the tines do not engage on my Yard Machines 30 Tiller?

      James WhitakerAug 18, 2025
If the tines on your Yard Machines Tiller do not engage, there might be a foreign object lodged in the tines (stop the tiller completely, check and discard any foreign object), tine clevis pin(s) are missing (replace the tine clevis pin(s)), the pulley and idler are not in correct adjustment (take the unit to an authorized service dealer), the control cable is not adjusted properly (adjust the control cable), or the belt is worn and/or stretched (replace the belt).
