Sharpening is required when the mower will not cut satisfactorily without the reel blades wiping on the cutter bar.
Most lawn mower service shops are equipped with Yard-Man factory-built service equipment to give your YARD-MAN precision.
Always give the Part Number, Part Name, Model Number, and Name of item when ordering repair parts.
Refer to the Parts List for component identification, part numbers, and descriptions.
Attach handle brace and handle components securely as shown in Figure 1.
Attach cover plate and grass catcher clip with screws.
Adjust wheel height by moving axle nut and disengaging locating dowel to desired setting.
Loosen roller knob, adjust roller height, and tighten knobs securely.
Adjust cutter bar so reel blades pinch newspaper without cutting.
Seals on bearings hold grease and keep dirt out; no further lubrication needed until sharpening.
Oil roller bearing once or twice a year.
