      There are several reasons why your Yard-Man Chippers/Shredders engine might not be starting: * The spark plug wire may be disconnected. Connect it to the spark plug. * The fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel. Refill with clean, fresh gasoline. * The throttle control lever might not be in the correct starting position. Move the throttle lever to the FAST position. * The choke may not be in the CHOKE position. Move the choke to the CHOKE position. * The fuel line could be blocked. Clean the fuel line. * The spark plug may be faulty. Clean, adjust the gap, or replace it.

      If your Yard-Man Chippers/Shredders unit isn't discharging, consider these possibilities: 1. The discharge chute may be clogged. Stop the engine immediately, disconnect the spark plug wire, and clean the flail screen and inside of the discharge opening. 2. A foreign object may be lodged in the impeller. Stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and remove the object. 3. The engine RPM may be too low. Always run the engine at full throttle. 4. The vacuum bag might be full. Empty the bag.

Move the choke lever (if equipped) to the OFF position. * A blocked fuel line or stale fuel. Clean the fuel line and fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline. * Water or dirt in the fuel system. Drain the fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel. * A dirty air cleaner. Clean or replace the air cleaner. * The carburetor may be out of adjustment. See authorized service dealer.
