What to do if cutting attachment will not advance line on Yard-Man YM25?
    • D
      David CarlsonAug 18, 2025
If the cutting attachment on your Yard-Man Trimmer won't advance the line, consider these potential causes: the cutting attachment might be bound with grass (stop the engine and clean it), the cutting attachment might be out of line (refill with new line), the inner reel could be bound up (replace the inner reel), the cutting head might be dirty (clean the inner reel and outer spool), the line could be welded (disassemble, remove the welded section, and rewind), the line could be twisted when refilled (disassemble and rewind the line), or not enough line is exposed (push the bump knob and pull out line until 4 inches (102 mm) of line is outside of the cutting attachment).

Why Yard-Man YM25 Trimmer engine will not start?
    • K
      kristy26Aug 23, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Yard-Man Trimmer engine from starting. It could be due to an empty fuel tank (fill it with properly-mixed fuel), insufficient priming (press the primer bulb fully and slowly 10 times), a flooded engine (hold the throttle control and pull the starter rope until it starts), old or improperly mixed fuel (drain the tank and add fresh fuel), a fouled spark plug (replace or clean it), a plugged spark arrestor (clean or replace it), or the EZ-Start lever not being set (move the lever to start).

    • M
      medwardsAug 26, 2025
If your Yard-Man Trimmer engine won't accelerate, the issue could stem from several causes. Old or improperly mixed fuel is a common culprit; drain the gas tank and add a fresh fuel mixture. A dirty air filter can also be the reason; clean or replace the air filter. Additionally, a plugged spark arrestor can prevent acceleration, so clean or replace the spark arrestor. If the cutting attachment is bound with grass, stop the engine and clean the cutting attachment. For improper carburetor adjustment, take the trimmer to an authorized service dealer for adjustment.
