Several factors can prevent your York Air Conditioner's compressor and condenser fan from starting. It could be due to a power failure, in which case you should call the power company. Alternatively, a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker could be the cause; try replacing the fuse or resetting the breaker. Other potential causes include a defective thermostat, contactor, transformer, or control relay (replace the component), insufficient line voltage (determine and correct the cause), incorrect or faulty wiring (check the wiring diagram and rewire correctly), or a thermostat setting that is too high (lower the thermostat setting below room temperature).
