Function Description:
The Zanussi ZBT23420SA is a fridge freezer designed for household and similar applications. It features a refrigerator compartment for storing fresh food and a freezer compartment for freezing fresh food and storing frozen and deep-frozen food for extended periods. The appliance operates automatically, with temperature regulation managed by a temperature regulator. It is equipped with an internal light for visibility and movable shelves and door shelves for flexible storage. The refrigerator compartment includes an automatic defrosting system, while the freezer compartment requires manual defrosting when the frost layer reaches a thickness of about 3-5 mm.

Usage Features:
- Switching On/Off: The appliance is switched on by plugging it into a wall socket and turning the temperature regulator clockwise to a medium setting. To switch off, the regulator is turned to the "0" position.
- Temperature Regulation: The temperature is automatically regulated. Users can adjust the temperature regulator to lower settings for minimum coldness or higher settings for maximum coldness. A medium setting is generally recommended, but the optimal setting depends on room temperature, door opening frequency, food quantity, and appliance location.

- Thawing: Frozen food can be thawed in the refrigerator compartment or at room temperature. Small pieces can be cooked directly from frozen, though cooking time will be longer.
- Storage of Frozen Food: For optimal performance, commercially frozen foodstuffs should be adequately stored by the retailer and transferred quickly to the freezer. The door should not be opened frequently or left open for extended periods. Once defrosted, food should not be refrozen.

- Hints for Freezing:
- Freeze only top-quality, fresh, and thoroughly cleaned foodstuffs.
- Prepare food in small portions for rapid freezing and easier thawing.
- Wrap food in airtight aluminium foil or polythene.
- Avoid contact between fresh and already frozen food.
- Lean foods store better and longer than fatty ones; salt reduces storage life.
- Water ices consumed immediately after removal from the freezer can cause freeze burn.
- It is advisable to mark the freezing date on each pack.
Maintenance Features:
- Periodic Cleaning:
- The inside and accessories should be cleaned regularly with lukewarm water and neutral soap.
- Door seals should be checked and wiped clean to ensure they are free from debris.
- The appliance should be rinsed and dried thoroughly.
- If accessible, the condenser and compressor at the back should be cleaned with a brush to improve performance and save electricity.
- Defrosting the Refrigerator: Frost is automatically eliminated from the refrigerator evaporator. The defrost water drains into a special container over the motor compressor, where it evaporates. The defrost water drain hole in the refrigerator compartment channel must be periodically cleaned to prevent overflow.
- Defrosting the Freezer: The freezer should be defrosted when the frost layer reaches 3-5 mm thickness.
- Switch off the appliance or unplug it.
- Remove stored food, wrap it in newspaper, and place it in a cool area.
- Leave the door open and insert a plastic scraper in the bottom center, placing a basin underneath to collect defrost water.

- Remove the screw and then the lamp cover.
