Snowy picture and lousy sound. • Check your antenna connection or Location.
Multiple images or 'ghost shadows.' • Check your antenna direction and/or Location.

properly connected.

* If possibleincreasethe distancebetweenyour EntertainmentMachineand

• Check volume control.
• Make sure the TV is not Muted.
• Try another channel. The problem may be the broadcast, not your
Entertainment Machine.
• Are the Audio A/V cables property installed?
• Are the wires for external speakers (if you have external speakers)
property installed?
No picture and lousy sound.
* Areyou in TV or Cabletuning mode(See Auto Programon page 11), and should
be in the other?
• Makesureoutputchannelsonall A/V equipment areonthe samechannel(3 or 4).
• Checkthat all connectionsare tight.
No picture and no sound _
The thing is just DEAD!
• Is the ACpower pluggedin?
• Checkthat your ACpower outlet works.(Testit by pluggingin somethingelse
or try another plug.)
• Makesureyour brightnessand audio controlsareset properly.
• Tryanother channel.The problemmay be with the broadcast,not your
EntertainmentMachine.
No color, but the soundis O.K. • Checkthe color control in the Videomenu.

Picture has a big black box • The CC(closedcaption) option may be in Text mode.Select OFFin the

Picture hastwo horizontal • Yourprogramis in Letterbox. Thismeansthat the shapeof yourTV is
black bars, one on top and square,but the programis a rectangle.Thinkof the barsasempty spacethe

direct representationof film asyou see it in the movies, you are actuallyseeing
MOREof the programwhen you see those bars.Trustus.
Remote control doesn't work.
• Make surethe batteries are freshand installed properly.
• Checkto see that the MBR(Multi BrandRemoteavailable on somemodels)is in
the right modeforyour equipment.
Menu options won't change. • Try unplugging the TV, waiting about five minutes, and then plugging it back in
and trying again.
