Overview

This document is a user manual for the Zinc Three-Wheeled Folding Scooter T-Motion. It provides instructions for assembly, use, maintenance, and warranty information.

Function Description:

The Zinc T-Motion is a three-wheeled folding scooter designed for children aged 3 and up. It features a "Lean and Steer" mechanism, meaning the rider steers by leaning the handlebars left or right rather than turning them. The scooter is foldable for easy storage and transport. It is intended for leisure use in parks or open spaces, not as a road vehicle or for stunts.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Age Recommendation: 3+ years
  • Maximum Weight Capacity: 80kg (Class A)
  • Handlebar Height Options: Four adjustable height options: 72cm, 75.5cm, 79cm, 83cm.
  • Steering Mechanism: Lean and Steer
  • Brake: Friction brake activated by pressing down with the heel on the rear wheel.
  • Compliance: Complies with BS EN14619:2019 / EN14619:2019.
  • Product Codes:
    • ZC05964 - THREE WHEELED FOLDING T-MOTION - BLACK
    • ZC07947 - THREE WHEELED FOLDING T-MOTION - BLUSH PINK
    • ZC07948 - THREE WHEELED FOLDING T-MOTION - POWDER BLUE

Usage Features:

  • Unfolding: To unfold the scooter, the user pulls the 'handlebar lock' to release it, then pulls the handlebars up to a vertical position. The 'handlebar lock' must be pushed back down to lock the bars in position.
  • Folding: To fold the scooter, the user pulls up the 'handlebar lock' to release it, then pushes down the handlebars. The 'handlebar lock' springs back to lock in position.
  • Adjusting Handlebar Height: The handlebars stem adjuster is loosened, and the handlebars are pulled out until a button pops out. To adjust the height, the button is pushed in, and the handlebars are moved up or down to one of the four height options. Once the desired height is reached, the stem adjuster is screwed tight.
  • Riding: The rider grips the handlebars, places one foot on the deck, and uses the other foot to kick off the ground to gain motion. Steering is achieved by leaning the handlebars to the left or right. To stop or slow down, the rider places their kicking foot on the brake pedal above the rear wheel.
  • Safety Guidelines:
    • Adult supervision is required for use.
    • Always wear a helmet, knee pads, wrist pads, elbow pads, protective clothing, and proper shoes.
    • Ensure all screws and wheels are tightly in place before each use. Hex keys are provided for tightening.
    • Only one rider at a time.
    • Do not use for jumping stunts or tricks.
    • Avoid use at night, in poor weather (rain, snow, poor visibility), or in heavily populated areas (pavements, streets, muddy/rocky/slippery surfaces). Recommended for use in a park or open space.
    • The brake can get hot from continuous use; avoid touching it after braking.
    • Do not use on roads or public highways.
    • Do not over-steer to prevent falling.
    • Regularly check all fixings, including wheels, for tightness.
    • Never ride without tightening the scooter.
    • Check all clamping devices for tightness and the foot brake prior to riding.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: After use, wipe the product with mild detergent.
  • Storage: Store in a dry place, away from high temperatures, intense sunlight, or dusty areas.
  • Fasteners: Always ensure all screws and nuts are securely tightened before every use. Self-locking nuts and fixings may lose effectiveness over time; if they fail, discontinue use and seek replacement parts.
  • Modifications: No modifications other than those specified by the manufacturer's instructions should be made.
  • Bearings and Wheels: Periodically rotate bearings and wheels to check for smooth rolling.
  • Lubrication: It is suggested to clean and add lubricant every 6 months, focusing on moving parts, clearing them of grit and dirt to ensure free movement.
  • Damage: If the scooter is dropped and parts like the handgrip or aluminum tubing are damaged, it is strongly advised to replace them promptly to prevent accidents.

Warranty Information:

  • Duration: 1 year from the date of purchase.
  • Registration: Product must be registered at www.zincsports.com within 30 days of receipt for the warranty to be valid.
  • Proof of Purchase: Required for warranty claims.
  • Original Purchaser: Warranty is valid only for the original purchaser from an authorized dealer and is non-transferable.

  • Coverage: Covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and compliance with the instruction manual.
  • Exclusions: Does not cover wear and tear parts (bearings, brakes, wheels, grip tape, folding mechanisms), cosmetic parts (paint, stickers, labels), or loss of parts. Spare parts may be available for purchase if not covered by warranty.
