What to do if my Zodiac Heater is pounding or knocking?
    • M
      Meredith EvansAug 22, 2025
If your Zodiac Heater is making pounding or knocking noises, it could be due to several reasons. Check for any obstructions or closed valves in the system that might be causing low water flow through the heater. Inspect the Thermal Regulating Valve (TRV) for a damaged internal bypass. Also, check if the variable speed pump is set too low. Lastly, make sure that the filter or baskets are clean.

What to do if the igniter lights but the Zodiac Heater does not fire?
    • J
      Justin MeyerAug 26, 2025
If the igniter lights but your Zodiac Heater doesn't fire, several issues could be at play. First, ensure the gas valve is ON and cycle the ignition sequence until air is purged from the gas line. Check the controls for proper operation. Verify proper gas supply pipe size and check the supply pressure/volume. If the gas pressure/volume is low, consider replacing the gas valve, but confirm this is the root problem before replacement. If there is high burner throat pressure, there is no suggested solution.

How to troubleshoot a Zodiac Heater pump that is not operating?
    • E
      ericlongAug 28, 2025
To troubleshoot a Zodiac Heater pump that is not operating, begin by checking the circuit breakers and power source. If those are fine, recheck the wiring. Verify the time clock setting is correct. If the pump still doesn't work, consider replacing it.

What to do if the igniter lights but my Zodiac JXi 200 does not fire?
    • D
      Desiree PetersonAug 31, 2025
If the igniter lights but your Zodiac Swimming Pool Heater doesn't fire, it could be due to several reasons: * The gas valve might not be turned ON. * There may be air in the gas line – cycle the ignition sequence until the air is purged. * There might be no power to the gas valve – check the controls for proper operation. * The gas pressure/volume could be low – check the supply and verify the gas supply pipe size. * There might be high burner throat pressure. * The gas valve may have failed – though this is rare, replace the gas valve after confirming it's the issue.

Why is my Zodiac Swimming Pool Heater not providing enough heat?
    • J
      Jeffery DiazSep 3, 2025
If your Zodiac Swimming Pool Heater is not providing enough heat, resulting in slow heating, failure to maintain the set temperature, or a low-temperature rise, consider these potential causes and solutions: * The heater might be inadequately sized – consider replacing it with a heater of higher output. * The filter pump might not be running long enough. * The thermal regulator valve (TRV) could be opening early or be permanently open – replace the TRV. * The heater might be plumbed backward – correct the plumbing. Also, be aware that the heater might be condensing. Flue product moisture will condense at start-up until the heater water temperature reaches normal operating conditions.

      laurafordSep 12, 2025
If your Zodiac Heater isn't producing enough heat, consider these potential causes: The heater might be inadequately sized for the application; if so, replacing it with a heater of higher output is recommended. Another solution is to replace the TRV. Also, the heater may be condensing, which is normal at start-up until the water temperature reaches normal operating conditions. Finally, ensure the plumbing is correctly installed.

What to do if my Zodiac Heater has unstable combustion?
    • R
      Richard MorganNov 15, 2025
If your Zodiac Heater experiences unstable combustion, characterized by turning off and on, slow ignition, flame lifting and going out, or a short yellow streaked flame, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure the gas supply matches the gas type indicated on the rating plate. If the fuel/air mixture is lean due to low supply pressure, correct the gas supply inlet pressure to the specified values for either natural gas or propane. If there's too much combustion air, adjust the offset pressure to -.05 kPa (-0.2" W.C.) using a digital differential manometer. If the fuel/air mixture is rich due to high manifold pressure, connect a digital differential manometer to the blower throat and gas valve port to ensure the differential value falls within the specified range for the heater siz...
