It is designed to enhance productivity in a professional environment by streamlining communication processes. The phone's interface includes a display screen, a dialpad, programmable keys, and dedicated soft keys for quick access to common functions.

Usage Features:

Voicemail Management:

  • Setting Up and Accessing Voicemail: To set up or access voicemail, users press the "Message" button. The system will prompt for a password, which is entered using the dialpad. For initial setup, users follow instructions to record their name, greeting, and set a password. For subsequent access, after pressing "Message," users simply enter their chosen PIN.
  • Remote Voicemail Access: If provided with a voicemail access number by an administrator, users can dial that number, enter their extension, and then their voicemail PIN. Alternatively, if an access number is unknown or forgotten, users can dial their direct phone number, press "#" when they hear their greeting, and then enter their extension and voicemail PIN.
  • Voicemail Transfer: While on a call, users can transfer the caller directly to voicemail by pressing the "Transfer" button, then dialing "*86" followed by the extension of the desired voicemail box.

Call Handling:

  • Answering Calls: Calls can be answered by lifting the handset, pressing the "Speaker" button, or pressing the "Headset" button. To end a call, users press the "End Call" button or press the "Speaker" button again if using speakerphone.
  • Answering While on a Call: If an incoming call arrives while a user is already on another call, pressing the "Answer" soft key will automatically place the current call on hold and connect the user to the new incoming call.
  • Holding Calls: To place a call on hold, users press the "Hold" button. To retrieve a held call, users select the line the call was on, press the "Hold" button again, or press the "Resume" soft key.
  • Call Transfer:
    • Supervised Transfer: While on a call, users press the "Transfer" button, then type in the extension or full 10-digit number of the person they wish to transfer the call to. Users can wait on the line until the recipient answers, announce the call, and if the recipient is available, hang up to connect the call. If the recipient is unavailable, users can press "Cancel" to return to the original caller.
    • Blind Transfer: For a direct transfer without speaking to the recipient first, users press the "Transfer" button, dial the extension or full 10-digit number of the recipient, and then press "Transfer" again.
  • Call Pick Up: To pick up any ringing phone, users dial "*77" on their phone and then lift the handset.
  • Directed Call Pick Up: To pick up a specific ringing extension, users enter the extension followed by "*" and then press "Send."
  • Auto Park: This feature allows users to place a call into a system-wide hold. While on a call, users press the "Park" soft key. The display will show the park number (typically starting with 01). Users can then press the "Exit" soft key to clear the screen.
  • Unpark: To retrieve a parked call, users press the "Pickup" soft key, dial the park number (typically 01), and press "Send."

Conference Calling:

  • Conference A Call: To initiate a conference call, users first call the initial party and wait for them to answer. Then, they press the "Conference" button, dial the extension or full 10-digit number of the second party. Once the second party answers, users press the "Conference" button again to connect all three parties.

Intercom and Paging:

  • Redial: The "Redial" button allows users to quickly redial the last number called.
  • Programmable Keys: The phone includes programmable keys that can be customized for various functions, such as speed dial, line appearances, or feature access.

Maintenance Features:

While the manual primarily focuses on usage, the implied maintenance involves ensuring the device is connected to a stable network and power source. For any operational issues or advanced configurations, users are directed to contact YipTel support via phone or email, indicating that troubleshooting and technical maintenance are handled by service providers rather than end-users. Regular software updates, if applicable, would typically be managed remotely by the service provider to ensure optimal performance and security. The device is designed for reliability within a managed IP telephony environment, minimizing the need for direct user maintenance beyond basic operation.
