  If your ZURN Plumbing Product's valve flushes too long or doesn't shut off, it could be due to several reasons. Foreign material might be preventing the trip mechanism from seating properly; try disassembling the parts and rinsing them thoroughly. The by-pass orifice could be plugged; examine it and clean carefully without enlarging the opening. Inadequate line pressure could also be the issue; take steps to increase the line pressure. Finally, a cracked cover might be the cause; replace it with a new one.

  If your ZURN Plumbing Product has an insufficient water volume to adequately siphon the fixture, the stop valve may not be open enough; open it for the desired water volume. Alternatively, a urinal trip mechanism might be incorrectly installed; replace it with the proper closet valve part. Insufficient volume or pressure at the supply could also be the cause. If you cannot measure supply pressure or water volume, remove the working parts and open the stop valve to allow water to pass through the empty valve. If the supply is adequate, you may remove the guide ring (#16) from the guide assembly to provide additional flow. If this doesn't work, take steps to increase the pressure and/or supply.

The fixture itself or the piping system could also be contributing to the noise. To check the fixture, place a cover over the bowl opening to separate valve noise from bowl noise. If the fixture is too noisy, consult with the fixture manufacturer. High pressure in the system can sometimes be controlled by the stop valve. Other sources of noise may be the absence of air chambers and shock arrestors, loose pipes, or improper pipe sizes. In these cases, the building engineer should be consulted.
