ATTENTION
The existing configuration of your VMG8825 will be deleted, and current connec-
tions to the Internet or telephone calls will be disconnected.
Your VMG8825 then restarts as a modem with the factory settings.
The user interface can now be reached exclusively via the Ethernet port LAN1.
Connecting a router/firewall
Connect the downstream device (e.g., router or firewall) to the Ethernet port LAN2
of the VMG8825 (see figure below). In modem mode, only one device can be con-
nected to the VMG8825.
Access to the user interface
In modem mode, access to the user interface of the VMG8825 occurs only via the
Ethernet port LAN1. You can query the status of the DSL modem here and per-
form a firmware update, for example.
