Function Description

The thermometer measures body temperature in the ear canal. It provides a digital display of the temperature reading and includes features for memory recall, unit conversion (°C/°F), and self-diagnosis. The device is designed to be user-friendly with a quick start process.

Usage Features

  • Quick Start: Install batteries, press the power button, wait for two short beeps, place the probe in the ear, press the power button again, and read the temperature.
  • Display Overview: The LCD shows the measured value, unit (°F or °C), ear measurement indicator, measuring indicator, low battery indication, memory indication, and a "wait for next measurement" symbol.
  • Backlight: The display backlight changes color based on temperature:
    • Green Backlight: T ≤ 98.9°F
    • Yellow Backlight: 99°F ≤ T ≤ 99.4°F
    • Red Backlight: 99.5°F ≤ T
  • Battery Installation: Requires 2 new AAA alkaline batteries. Ensure correct polarity. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for a long period.
  • Setting °C or °F Scale: Turn on the device, then press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to toggle between °C and °F.
  • Memory Function:
    • Recall Memory: When the unit is off, press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds to view the last memory. Continue pressing to recall up to 9 previous records.
    • Delete All Memory: In memory mode, press and hold the power button to delete all memories. The device will then turn off automatically.
  • Measurement Consideration:
    • Ensure the measuring site is dry and clean.
    • Straighten the ear canal: For children under 12 months, gently pull the ear backward. For children over 12 months and adults, gently pull the ear backward and upward.
    • Place the probe inside the ear canal and press the power button to take a measurement.
    • Wait at least thirty minutes after exercising, bathing, or eating before taking a measurement.
    • If the subject's body temperature is lower than the room temperature, a false reading may occur.
  • Safety Instructions:
    • Read the entire manual before operation.
    • Clean the device before first use and after each measurement.
    • Do not use if malfunctions occur or if it operates abnormally.
    • Children should use under adult supervision.
    • Avoid use near flammable materials, on scarred tissue, open wounds, or abrasions.
    • Allow the device to return to room temperature for at least one hour if stored in extreme temperatures.
    • Do not touch the probe unless taking a measurement.
    • The device is not water resistant; keep dry.
    • Do not drop or expose to heavy shock.
    • Do not bite or swallow the probe or battery cover.
    • Avoid contact with thinners or chemical solvents.
    • Components may be harmful if swallowed; contact a physician if ingested.
    • Do not put the unit in a dishwasher.
    • Performance may degrade if operated or stored outside stated temperature/humidity ranges or if the patient's temperature is below ambient temperature.
    • Use indoors only, away from mobile phones and microwave ovens (minimum 3.3 meters/11 feet for devices exceeding 2W).
    • Readings are for reference; consult a physician if feeling unwell.
    • Do not scrape or scratch the probe.
    • Do not dismantle the device except for battery replacement.
    • Dispose of the device and battery according to local regulations.
    • Not intended for emergency medical services.
    • Calibration is recommended every two years for maximum performance.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning & Disinfection:
    • Pre-cleaning: Wash with cold water several times.
    • Cleaning: Clean the probe with a 5-10% mild detergent solution for 10-15 seconds. Continuously clean with cold water to avoid chemical residues. Rinse with drinking or distilled water. Repeat if necessary.
    • Disinfection: Wipe the probe with a cloth dipped in a 70-75% isopropyl alcohol solution for at least 10 minutes.
    • Drying: Air-dry the device at room temperature (68-86°F) for 30-60 minutes.
    • Do not immerse the unit in water or any liquid.
    • Do not use corrosive detergents, thinners, benzene, or other harsh cleaners.
  • Care and Storage:
    • Do not drop or crush the device.
    • Do not dismantle or modify the device other than changing batteries.
    • Avoid storing in extreme environments with direct sunlight, high/low temperatures, high humidity, or severe dust.
    • Contact local agents or distributors if the device does not function properly.
