Highlights
3Com’s stackable Ethernet hubs can
provide a cost-effective network addi-
tion with full segmentation capabili-
ties and the benefits of 3Com’s LAN
Security Architecture. This solution is
also an option for a smaller network
where cost is a concern.
The slide-in LinkBuilder FMS II
Bridge Management Module lets you
segment the network, manage both
hub and bridge operations, and run
Spanning Tree Algorithm (STA) for
redundant links. It features a full
IEEE 802.1d transparent bridge com-
plete with a 1024-address filtering
database.
If all you need is low-cost, simple
bridging without sophisticated man-
agement capabilities, the LinkBuilder
Bridge MicroModule is the ideal
alternative. Just slide this unmanaged
local bridge into the transceiver inter-
face module slot of a LinkBuilder
FMS II hub.
With either option, you get
dramatic improvements in network
performance without the need to
purchase dedicated local bridges on
each floor.
