Usage Features:

  • Assembly: Detailed instructions are provided for assembling the engine to the transmission, throttle wire and electrical cables, handle/handlebar, safety guard, and the cutting blade or nylon wire head. Specific figures (Fig. 2, 3A/3B, 4, 6, 7, 8-9, 10-11, 24, 25, 26) illustrate each step.
  • Harness: The ergonomic ACTIVE® harness is designed for comfort and safety, requiring proper adjustment to the operator's needs (Fig. 27).
  • Fueling: The brushcutter uses a 2-stroke engine, requiring a specific fuel mixture of gasoline and special 2-stroke oil (ACTIVE 1:50 (2%) or synthetic 1:50 (2%), or mineral 1:25 (4%)). Fueling should be done with the engine off, away from heat sources, and without smoking. The tank should only be filled 3/4 full to allow for expansion.
  • Starting the Engine: The manual outlines steps for starting, including setting the switch to position (1) (Fig. 17), pressing the primer bulb (C) 5-6 times (Fig. 19), closing the choke lever (C) (Fig. 18A), pulling the starter lever (C), and then returning the choke to the open position (B) (Fig. 18B) once the engine fires.
  • Stopping the Engine: Move the throttle lever (2) (Fig. 17) to idle, allow the engine to cool, and then move the ground switch to the stop position (0) (Fig. 17).
  • Nylon Wire Head Operation: The ACTIVE® nylon wire head allows for wire extension by tapping the knob (1) on the ground while the motor is running (Fig. 14). Each tap extends the wire by approximately 3 cm.
  • Safety Precautions: The manual stresses the importance of reading and understanding all safety instructions, wearing appropriate protective gear (boots, trousers, gloves, eye protection, ear protection, helmet), maintaining a 15-meter safety radius from bystanders, and never operating the brushcutter while tired, ill, or under the influence. It also warns against using metal wires or reinforced cords as cutting attachments due to projectile risks.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Checks: Periodically check all screws for tightness, replace damaged or worn blades, and ensure the nylon wire head or blade is correctly mounted and secured.
  • Air Filter (Fig. 20): Periodically check and clean the air filter using compressed air. Replace if damaged. Do not wash with water, gasoline, or other liquids, and do not oil the paper filter.
  • Fuel Filter (Fig. 21): Periodically check and replace the fuel filter if excessively dirty. Remove the tank cap (1) and extract the filter (2) using a hook or long-nose pliers.
  • Engine: Regularly remove dust and dirt from the engine's slots, cylinder cover, and fins to prevent overheating, using a brush or compressed air.
  • Spark Plug (Fig. 22): Remove and clean the spark plug every 50 hours, adjusting the electrode gap to 0.5 – 0.6 mm. Replace the spark plug every 100 operating hours or if excessively encrusted/worn. Check carburetor settings and oil mixture quality if fouling is excessive. The recommended spark plug is ACTIVE® RAX 80 (Art. No. 021816).
  • Bevel Gear (Fig. 23): Add specific ACTIVE grease (ref. 21230) through hole (A) in the gearbox every 50 hours of operation.
  • Disc: Always check the general condition of the blade and replace it immediately if cracks or breaks appear.
  • Storage: Thoroughly clean and grease metal parts. Empty the fuel tank and run the engine until all fuel is consumed. Store in a dry environment. Remove the spark plug, pour a small amount of oil into the cylinder, rotate the crankshaft a few times to distribute the oil, and then refit the spark plug. All maintenance not listed in the manual must be performed by an authorized workshop.
