Do you have a question about the AEG DTB3652M and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The AEG DTB3652M is a cooker hood designed for domestic use above hobs, cookers, and similar cooking devices. This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for its installation, safe operation, and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Function Description

The cooker hood is primarily designed to extract smoke, steam, and cooking odors from the kitchen, improving air quality and preventing grease and moisture buildup on surfaces. It features a control panel with four main functions:

  • Lamp (1): This button turns the integrated lighting system on and off, illuminating the cooking surface. The hood's light operates independently of its extraction functions.
  • First Speed / Off (2): Pressing this button activates the motor at its first speed level, suitable for heating food or cooking with covered pots. A second press of this button will turn the appliance off.
  • Second Speed (3): This button engages the motor at its second speed level, recommended for cooking with covered pots on multiple cooking zones or burners, or for gentle frying.
  • Third Speed (4): This button activates the motor at its third and highest speed level, ideal for boiling and frying large quantities of food without a lid, or when cooking on multiple cooking zones or burners that produce significant steam and odors.

The hood is intended for use in conjunction with cooking appliances and is not designed for other purposes. It is crucial to ensure good air ventilation in the room where the appliance is installed to prevent the backflow of gases from other fuel-burning appliances.

Usage Features

To operate the hood, users simply press the "First Speed / Off" button to switch it on. The speed can then be adjusted by pressing the desired speed button (Second or Third speed) according to the intensity of cooking. It is recommended to leave the hood operating for approximately 15 minutes after cooking to ensure all residual steam and odors are cleared from the kitchen.

The lighting function can be activated or deactivated at any time by pressing the lamp button, providing convenient illumination for the cooking area regardless of the extraction speed.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the AEG DTB3652M cooker hood. The manual provides clear instructions for cleaning the appliance and replacing its filters.

Cleaning the Appliance:

  • The surface of the appliance should be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild detergent to prevent deterioration of the surface material.
  • After cooking, allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning. Dry it with a clean cloth or paper towels to avoid stains.
  • Do not use abrasive detergents, brushes, steam cleaners, water sprays, harsh abrasive cleaners, or sharp metal scrapers, as these can damage the surface.
  • The interior of the appliance should also be cleaned carefully to remove fat and other residues, which can pose a fire risk.

Cleaning and Replacing Grease Filters:

  • Grease filters should be cleaned regularly, at least every two months, to prevent the accumulation of grease deposits and reduce fire risk.
  • To remove the grease filters, press the handle of the mounting clip on the filter panel underneath the hood, then slightly tilt the front of the filter downwards and pull it out.
  • Grease filters can be washed in a dishwasher, set to a low temperature and a short cycle. While the filter may discolour, this does not affect its performance. Alternatively, they can be cleaned with a sponge and non-abrasive detergents.
  • To reinstall the filters, reverse the removal steps.

Replacing Charcoal Filters (if applicable):

  • Charcoal filters are not washable and cannot be regenerated. They must be replaced approximately every 4 to 6 months, or more frequently with heavy usage, as their saturation time depends on the type of cooking and the regularity of grease filter cleaning.
  • To replace charcoal filters, first remove the grease filters.
  • Then, press the front edge of the charcoal filter into its slot towards the bottom part and slightly tilt the front downwards to remove it.
  • Install a new filter by performing these steps in reverse order.

Replacing the Lamp:

  • The appliance is supplied with an LED lamp and a separate control gear. These parts are intended to be replaced by a qualified technician only. In case of any malfunction with the lamp, users should refer to the "Service" section in the safety instructions and contact an Authorised Service Centre.

By following these maintenance guidelines, users can ensure their AEG DTB3652M cooker hood remains in excellent working condition, providing effective ventilation and a clean cooking environment for many years.
