This document is the User Manual for the AEG HG755551SY Hob, a built-in gas cooking appliance. It provides comprehensive information on safety, installation, operation, maintenance, and technical specifications.
Function Description
The AEG HG755551SY is a gas hob designed for domestic cooking purposes. It features five gas burners, including a Multi Crown burner, a Rapid burner, two Semi-rapid burners (front and rear), and an Auxiliary burner, offering a range of heat outputs for various cooking needs. The appliance is controlled via individual control knobs for each burner, allowing for precise flame regulation from minimum to maximum gas supply. It includes an ignition system for easy lighting of the burners and a thermocouple safety device that interrupts the gas supply if the flame accidentally goes out. The hob is not designed for external timer or remote-control system operation, nor for room heating.

Usage Features
- Ignition: To light a burner, push the control knob down and turn it counterclockwise to the maximum gas supply position. Keep the knob pushed for up to 10 seconds to allow the thermocouple to warm up and prevent gas supply interruption. Adjust the flame once it is regular. If the burner does not light after 15 seconds, release the knob, turn it to the off position, and try again after a minimum of 1 minute.
- Flame Regulation: The hob is equipped with progressive valves for more precise flame regulation.
- Cookware Compatibility: Use stable cookware with a correct shape and diameter, larger than the burner dimensions. Cookware diameters are specified for each burner type (e.g., Multi Crown: 180-260 mm, Rapid: 120-260 mm, Semi-rapid: 120-240 mm, Auxiliary: 80-160 mm). Cookware should be centrally positioned on the burners for maximum stability and lower gas consumption.
- Safety Devices: The appliance includes a thermocouple safety device that cuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out. It also has a child safety device (if applicable) that should be activated.
- Ventilation: Good ventilation is required in the room where the appliance is installed, especially during prolonged intensive use, to manage heat and moisture production.
- Energy Saving Tips:
- Ensure burners and pan supports are correctly assembled.
- Use cookware with appropriate diameters and center pots on burners.
- Use only the necessary amount of water.
- Always use lids on cookware when possible.
- Reduce flame to simmer once liquids boil.
- Consider using a pressure cooker.
Maintenance Features
- General Cleaning: Clean the hob after each use with a moist cloth and a non-abrasive detergent. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Remove melted plastic, sugar, or food with sugar immediately to prevent damage. Limescale, water, fat stains, and metallic discoloration should be removed when the hob is sufficiently cool.
- Stainless Steel Parts: Wash with water, dry with a soft cloth. For burnt food or stubborn stains, soak with mild detergent before cleaning. Use cleaning products specifically designed for stainless steel. Avoid corrosive chemicals, disinfectants, stain/rust removers, and immersion cleaners.
- Burners (Caps and Crowns): To clean enamelled parts, caps, and crowns, wash with warm soapy water and dry carefully before reassembly. Do not clean burners in a dishwasher.
- Pan Supports: Pan supports are not dishwasher-safe and must be washed by hand. Remove them for easier cleaning, handling them carefully to avoid damaging the hob top. Ensure they are correctly positioned and aligned with the burner centers after cleaning.
- Spark Plug: Keep the ceramic ignition candle and metal electrode clean to prevent difficult lighting. Check that burner crown holes are not obstructed.
- Periodic Maintenance: Periodically contact an Authorised Service Centre to check the condition of the gas supply pipe and pressure adjuster (if fitted).
- Injector Replacement: Injectors can be replaced by a qualified person to adapt the hob to different gas types. This involves removing pan supports, burner caps, and crowns, then using a socket spanner to replace the injectors.
- Minimum Level Adjustment: The minimum flame level of the burners can be adjusted by a qualified person using a thin screwdriver on the bypass screw, especially when converting between natural gas and liquid gas.
- Electrical Cable Replacement: The electrical connection cable must be replaced exclusively by a service force centre or similarly qualified personnel, adhering to current regulations.
