Usage Features
- Control Knobs: Each burner has a dedicated control knob with symbols for "no gas supply / off position," "ignition position / maximum gas supply," and "minimum gas supply." The hob uses progressive valves for more precise flame regulation.
- Ignition System: The burners are ignited by pushing down and turning the control knob counterclockwise to the maximum gas supply position. The knob must be held for 10-15 seconds to allow the thermocouple to warm up and prevent the gas supply from being interrupted. The spark generator can start automatically when the mains are switched on.
- Safety Features:
- Thermocouple: Automatically cuts off the gas supply if the flame accidentally goes out.
- Child Safety Device: If present, it should be activated to prevent children from operating the appliance.
- Hot Surface Indicator: Accessible parts become hot during use, and care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements.
- Overvoltage Category III: Requires an all-pole isolating switch for direct power supply connections.
- Cookware Guidelines:
- Use stable cookware with the correct shape and diameter, larger than the burner dimensions.
- Cookware should be centrally positioned on the burners for maximum stability and lower gas consumption.
- Avoid using cast iron pans, clay, earthenware pots, grills, or toaster plates.
- Do not place the same pan on two burners.
- Ensure pot bottoms are not too close to the control knob to prevent overheating.
- Pot handles should not extend beyond the front edge of the cooktop.
- Energy Saving Tips:
- Ensure burners and pan supports are correctly assembled.
- Use cookware with diameters appropriate to the burner size.
- Center the pot on the burner.
- Use only the necessary amount of water.
- Always use lids on cookware when possible.
- Reduce flame to simmer once liquid boils.
- Use a pressure cooker when possible.
Maintenance Features
- General Cleaning:
- Clean the hob after each use.
- Use a moist soft cloth and neutral detergents. Avoid abrasive products, cleaning pads, solvents, or metal objects.
- Wipe dry with a soft cloth after cleaning.
- For enamelled parts, caps, and crowns, wash with warm soapy water and dry carefully.
- Stainless steel parts should be washed with water and dried with a soft cloth.
- Do not use knives, scrapers, or similar instruments on the glass surface or burner rims.
- Do not clean burners in the dishwasher.
- Cleaning the Spark Plug: Keep the ceramic ignition candle and metal electrode clean to prevent difficult lighting. Ensure burner crown holes are not obstructed.
- Pan Supports:
- Remove pan supports for easier hob cleaning.
- Pan supports are not dishwasher safe and must be washed by hand.
- After cleaning, ensure pan supports are correctly positioned with their arms inserted into the recesses of the enamelled plates.
- Immediate Cleaning: Immediately remove melted plastic, plastic foil, sugar, and sugary foods to prevent damage.
- Cool Cleaning: Once the hob is sufficiently cool, remove limescale rings, water rings, fat stains, and shiny metallic discoloration.
- Periodic Maintenance: Contact an Authorised Service Centre periodically to check the gas supply pipe and pressure adjuster (if fitted).
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues like no spark or uneven flame, with suggested remedies. If issues persist, contact an Authorised Service Centre.
