This document is the user manual for the AEG IKB84431FB Induction Hob.
Function Description
The AEG IKB84431FB is a built-in induction hob designed for household cooking. It features four induction cooking zones, each with a control panel for operation. The hob utilizes an advanced automatic function called Hob²Hood, which connects the hob to a special hood via an infrared signal communicator. This allows the fan speed of the hood to be automatically adjusted based on the hob's mode setting and the temperature of the hottest cookware. Users can also operate the fan manually. The hob includes several safety and convenience features such as Automatic Switch Off, PowerBoost, Timer functions (Count Down, Count Up, Minute Minder), Pause, Lock, and Child Safety Device.

Usage Features
- Activation/Deactivation: Touch the ON/OFF sensor field for 1 second.
- Heat Setting: Set or change heat settings by touching or sliding a finger along the control bar (settings 1-14).
- Automatic Switch Off: The hob automatically deactivates if no heat setting is set, if something is spilled on the control panel for more than 10 seconds, if the hob overheats, or if incorrect cookware is used. Deactivation times vary based on the heat setting (e.g., 6 hours for settings 1-3, 1.5 hours for settings 10-14).
- Automatic Heat Up: Activates a desired heat setting in a shorter time by operating at the highest setting initially.
- PowerBoost: Provides extra power to induction cooking zones for a limited time, then reverts to the highest heat setting.
- Timer Functions:
- Count Down Timer: Sets a specific cooking duration (00-99 minutes).
- Count Up Timer: Monitors how long a cooking zone has been operating.
- Minute Minder: Functions independently of cooking zones, setting a general timer (e.g., for other kitchen tasks).
- Pause: Sets all operating cooking zones to the lowest heat setting (1) and locks other control panel symbols.
- Lock: Locks the control panel to prevent accidental changes to heat settings while cooking zones are active.
- Child Safety Device: Prevents accidental operation of the hob.
- OffSound Control: Allows deactivation or activation of the hob's acoustic signals.
- Power Management: Divides power between cooking zones connected to the same phase, activating when total electricity loading exceeds 3700 W, and reducing power to other zones as needed.
- Hob²Hood Function:
- Automatic Operation: Sets automatic modes (H1-H6) where the hood fan speed and light adjust based on hob activity and cookware temperature. The hob is originally set to H5.
- Manual Operation: Allows manual adjustment of fan speed by touching the dedicated sensor field.
- Automatic Light Activation: The hob can be set to activate the hood light automatically when the hob is activated.
- Cookware Suitability: Induction zones require cookware made of magnetic materials (cast iron, steel, enamelled steel, stainless steel, multi-layer bottom with a correct marking). Cookware dimensions are automatically adapted, but efficiency relates to diameter.
