How to address 'Airflow Fault During Ignition' in an Aerco Water Heater?
    • B
      Benjamin ThompsonDec 1, 2025
To address an 'AIRFLOW FAULT DURING IGNITION' in your Aerco Water Heater, you can try the following: * Check the combustion blower for signs of excessive heat or high current drain that may trip thermal or current overload devices. * Inspect the inlet to the combustion blower including any ductwork leading up to the combustion blower for signs of blockage. * Remove the Blower proof switch and inspect for signs of blockage, clean or replace as necessary. * Remove the blocked-air inlet switch and inspect for signs of blockage, clean or replace as necessary. * Measure the Blower proof switch for continuity with the combustion blower running. If there is an erratic resistance reading or the resistance reading is greater than zero ohms, replace the switch. * Measure the blocked-air...

How to troubleshoot 'Airflow Fault During Run' on an Aerco Water Heater?
    • J
      Jeremy SandersAug 26, 2025
To troubleshoot an 'AIRFLOW FAULT DURING RUN' on your Aerco Water Heater, consider the following: * Check the combustion blower for signs of overheating or excessive current draw. * Inspect the combustion blower inlet and ductwork for blockages. * Remove the airflow switch and inspect for blockages; clean or replace as necessary. * Measure the airflow switch for continuity while the blower is running; replace the switch if the resistance is erratic or greater than zero ohms. * Run the unit at full fire; if it rumbles or runs rough, perform combustion calibration.

What to do if my Aerco INNOVATION INN600 Water Heater displays 'High Gas Pressure'?
    • J
      Jennifer WarnerAug 27, 2025
If your Aerco Water Heater is showing a 'HIGH GAS PRESSURE' fault, check the following: * Make sure the gas pressure at the inlet of the SSOV is 2 psig maximum. * If the gas supply pressure downstream of the SSOV Actuator cannot be lowered to 1.5” W.C. using the gas pressure adjustment screw, the SSOV Actuator may be defective. * Remove the leads from the high gas pressure switch and measure continuity across the common and normally closed terminals with the unit not firing. Replace the switch if it does not show continuity.

What causes an 'Interlock Open' error on my Aerco INNOVATION INN600 Water Heater and how can I fix it?
    • M
      Mr. Anthony FinleyAug 27, 2025
If your Aerco Water Heater is showing an 'INTERLOCK OPEN' error, here are some things to check: * Ensure a jumper is properly installed across the interlock terminals in the I/O box. * If there are two external wires on these terminals, check any Energy Management system to see if they have the units disabled (a jumper may be temporarily installed to see if the interlock circuit is functioning). * Verify that the proving switch for any device hooked to the interlock circuit is closing and that the device is operational.

Why does my Aerco Water Heater show 'Low Gas Pressure' and how to resolve it?
    • M
      Mark ShermanAug 29, 2025
If your Aerco Water Heater is indicating 'LOW GAS PRESSURE', here's what you should investigate: * Measure gas pressure upstream of the SSOV Actuator(s) while the unit is firing. For FM gas trains, it should be between 4.0” W.C. and 2 psig. For IRI gas trains, it should be between 4.2" W.C. and 2 psig. * Measure gas pressure at the low gas pressure switch. If it is greater than 2.6” W.C., measure continuity across the switch and replace if necessary.

What to do if my Aerco INNOVATION INN600 Water Heater shows 'High Water Temp Switch Open'?
    • B
      Benjamin WatkinsNov 21, 2025
If your Aerco Water Heater displays a 'HIGH WATER TEMP SWITCH OPEN' error, try the following: * Test the temperature switch to ensure it trips at its actual water temperature setting. * Check PID settings against Menu Default settings in the Appendix. If the settings have been changed, record the current readings then reset them to the default values. * Using the resistance charts in the Appendix C, measure the resistance of Shell sensor and BTU sensor at a known water temperature. * If the unit is in Manual Mode, switch to Auto Mode. * Check the setpoint of unit and setpoint of Temperature Switch; Ensure that the temperature switch is set higher than the unit’s setpoint. * If the system is a variable flow system, monitor system flow changes to ensure that the rate of flow ch...

What does 'Outdoor Temp Sensor Fault' mean for my Aerco Water Heater?
    • R
      Rodney JenkinsSep 18, 2025
If your Aerco Water Heater is showing an 'OUTDOOR TEMP SENSOR FAULT', try the following: * Inspect the Outdoor Temperature sensor for loose or broken wiring. * Check the resistance of the sensor to determine if it is within specification. * Ensure that the correct sensor is installed.

What to do if my Aerco INNOVATION INN600 Water Heater displays 'Remote Setpt Signal Fault'?
    • C
      christopheredwardsSep 23, 2025
If your Aerco Water Heater displays a 'REMOTE SETPT SIGNAL FAULT', check the following: * Check the I/O Box to ensure the signal is connected. Connect it if it's not. If it is, verify the polarity and measure the signal level. Also, check the wiring continuity between the source and the unit. * Check the signal at the source to make sure it's isolated. * Verify that the DIP switch on the PMC board is correctly set for the type of signal being sent, and confirm the control signal type set in the Configuration Menu.

How to fix 'Prg Swtch Open During Purge' on Aerco INNOVATION INN600 Water Heater?
    • L
      lblankenshipSep 10, 2025
To fix a 'PRG SWTCH OPEN DURING PURGE' error on your Aerco Water Heater: * If the air-fuel valve does rotate, check purge switch for continuity when closing. Replace switch if continuity does not exist. * Measure for 24 VAC from each side of the switch to ground. If 24VAC is not present, refer fault to qualified service personnel. * Check to ensure that the switch is wired correctly (correct wire numbers on the normally open terminals). * Check DS1 & DS2 LEDs on Power Supply Board. If they are not steady ON, replace Power Supply Board. * Check “Heartbeat” LED DS1 and verify it is blinking ON & OFF every second. If not, replace IGST Board.

How to troubleshoot 'Airflow Fault During Purge' in an Aerco INNOVATION INN600 Water Heater?
    • C
      Christopher EvansSep 7, 2025
To troubleshoot an 'AIRFLOW FAULT DURING PURGE' in your Aerco Water Heater, consider the following: * Start the unit. If the blower does not run check the blower solid state relay for input and output voltage. If the relay is okay, check the blower. * Start the unit. If the blower runs, check the airflow switch for continuity. Replace the switch if there is no continuity. * Remove the air flow switch and inspect for signs of blockage, clean or replace as necessary. * Inspect the inlet to the combustion blower including any ductwork leading up to the combustion blower for signs of blockage. * Measure for 24 VAC during start sequence from each side of the switch to ground. If 24VAC is not present refer to qualified service personnel.
