Do you have a question about the AGCO ROGATOR 418 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The device is a RoGator 418, a self-propelled, off-road agricultural working machine from model year 2005, featuring a Caterpillar 3056E engine and hydrostatic drive. This operator's manual provides instructions for its safe operation and maintenance.

Function Description

The RoGator 418 is designed for agricultural tasks, featuring a hydrostatic drive system that controls vehicle speed by regulating oil flow to the wheel motors. The machine can operate in "Field" or "Road" positions, with different control mechanisms for speed. In "Field" position, speed is controlled by the hand throttle, while in "Road" position, it's determined by the accelerator pedal. The machine also features 4-wheel steering, which can be engaged for enhanced maneuverability, particularly on headlands, and disengaged for driving in tramlines or on public roads.

Usage Features

  • Traction Control Lever: Allows selection of neutral, driving forwards, or reversing, with distinct "Field" and "Road" positions affecting speed control (throttle vs. accelerator pedal).
  • Accelerator Pedal: Primarily for public road driving, increasing engine and ground speed.
  • Engine Speed Governing: Electronic control with On/Off switch and +/- buttons for RPM adjustment from inside the cab or a remote switch box.
  • Suspension: Automatic and manual suspension switches for raising or lowering the vehicle.
  • 4-Wheel Steering: Selectable modes (Automatic, Manual, Off) for enhanced maneuverability, especially on headlands. A foot switch activates/deactivates 4-wheel steering in automatic mode.
  • Track Width Adjustment (Option): Hydraulic adjustment to slide the axle between different track widths (1.50 m, 1.80 m, 2.00 m, 2.25 m) by manipulating a track lock disc and adjustment bar.
  • Hydraulic Skid Regulator (Option): Can be switched On/Off for difficult driving conditions, wetness, or steep slopes where slip develops.
  • Instrument Panel: Dashboard with speedometer, fuel level gauge, battery voltage gauge, indicator lights for high beam, parking brake, turn signals, filters, boost pressure, hydraulic oil level, oil temperature, transmission gears, and steering modes.
  • GEM (General Engine Module): A panel-mountable module displaying engine data, alarm messages, and offering configuration options for units, display settings, and service intervals.
  • Emergency Exit: Located at the right-hand side of the cab, activated by pulling a green tab to remove the glass seal and pushing the window out.
