Overview

The Aiper Seagull 1500 is a robotic pool cleaner designed for efficient and energy-saving maintenance of swimming pools. This device automates the cleaning process, targeting both the floor and walls of the pool without requiring water replacement, making it an environmentally friendly solution.

Function Description

The primary function of the Aiper Seagull 1500 is to autonomously clean swimming pools. Once placed in the pool and activated, it initiates a detection and calculation phase to determine the pool's size, employing an "Initial Cross Route" and "Floor Cross Route." This allows the cleaner to adapt its cleaning pattern to the specific dimensions of the pool. Following this initial mapping, the robot transitions into a "Climbing Route" mode, where it performs wall climbing and waterline scrubbing for approximately 15 minutes. This ensures that the upper sections of the pool walls and the waterline, areas prone to scum buildup, are thoroughly cleaned. After addressing the walls, the cleaner enters a "Floor Route" mode for a full cleaning cycle of the pool floor, which typically lasts around 35 minutes, though this duration can vary depending on the pool's size. The device is designed to repeat these wall climbing and floor cleaning cycles as long as sufficient battery life remains. If the battery level drops below 15%, the cleaner will cease wall climbing and focus solely on floor cleaning until the battery is depleted.

The cleaner operates with a "single front climbing" mode, meaning the side equipped with indicators will climb, while the opposite side remains on the pool floor. This specialized climbing mechanism allows it to navigate and clean vertical surfaces effectively. The device is suitable for pools up to 1614 sq.ft (150m²), ensuring comprehensive cleaning within this size range.

Usage Features

Operating the Aiper Seagull 1500 is straightforward. To begin, the cleaner should be placed into the pool with its bottom facing a wall. The user then holds the top handle and turns on the cleaner. It's crucial to ensure that all trapped air inside the cleaner is expelled before it fully submerges and settles on the pool floor. The cleaner will typically start working 20 seconds after activation, once the air bubbles cease and it has fully immersed.

The device is equipped with a switch and indicator lights that provide clear feedback on its status. A blue light indicates that the cleaner is switched on. When working normally, the blue indicator flashes. A flashing yellow indicator signals low battery, prompting the cleaner to move to the edge of the pool wall. A solid yellow light confirms that the cleaner has successfully stopped beside the pool wall. In case of a motor failure, a red indicator will illuminate during operation. A solid purple indicator warns of conditions such as working out of water, motor failure, or motor overcurrent if the cleaner becomes stuck.

Once the cleaning cycle is complete, the cleaner will automatically move to the pool edge, making it easy to retrieve using the provided hook. For optimal performance, it's important to charge the cleaner out of the pool and indoors, ensuring all indicators are off before connecting it to the charger.

The package includes floating blocks, which can be installed if the cleaner struggles to cover most areas or has issues with wall climbing. These blocks increase the cleaner's buoyancy, thereby enhancing its obstacle-surmounting ability and improving its wall climbing function. To install them, the filter cover is opened, the filter basket is removed, and the protective film on the back of the floaters is peeled off before sticking them into the designated positions.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the Aiper Seagull 1500. A key maintenance task is cleaning the filter basket after each use. This prevents dirt and debris from accumulating and hardening, which could block the filter grill and impede the cleaner's efficiency. To clean the filter basket, the top cover is opened, the basket is removed, and then washed thoroughly. If tough dirt persists or the filter basket changes color, a brush can be used for cleaning. In cases where the dirt cannot be removed, replacing the filter is recommended. After cleaning, the filter basket is reinstalled, and the top cover is closed.

Another critical maintenance step involves the charging pin. After each use, the charging pin should be wiped clean and dry with a paper towel or cotton swab. It's important to allow a few minutes for any moisture to dry out completely before charging the device. This precaution helps prevent corrosion of the charging pin due to electrolysis, which could lead to charging issues.

The cleaner should always be stored in a cool, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, when not in use. If the cleaner is to be stored for an extended period, it should be charged every three months to maintain the battery life between 40% and 60%. Using only the original and authorized power adapter is crucial for charging. Overheating during charging should be avoided by keeping the cleaner in a cool place and not covering it.

In situations where the cleaner experiences issues such as getting stuck on the main drain, front wheels raising up, the switch getting stuck, abnormal charger indicator lights, or motor failure (indicated by a red light), contacting customer service is advised. They can provide assistance, including replacement of accessory kits, drive kits, or the machine itself, depending on the nature of the problem. For issues related to wall climbing, checking the PVC roller brush for excessive wear or the gear teeth for detachment is recommended, and replacements can be obtained through customer service. If the cleaner floats and doesn't sink, ensuring all air is emptied and the filter basket is clean is the first step.
