Overview

The Alarm.com Wi-Fi Doorbell Camera and Slim Line are advanced doorbell systems designed to provide homeowners with enhanced front-door awareness and security. These devices integrate a doorbell, an HD camera, a Passive Infrared (PIR) motion sensor, a digital microphone, and a speaker, enabling two-way audio communication with visitors directly from the Alarm.com mobile app. This allows users to answer the door, speak to guests, and monitor their front entrance from anywhere.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Alarm.com Doorbell Cameras is to alert homeowners to activity at their front door. When the doorbell button is pressed or motion is detected, the device sends push notifications to the user's mobile phone. Acknowledging these notifications automatically initiates a two-way audio call and provides a live video feed from the camera, allowing for real-time interaction with visitors. The integrated camera records video clips based on various triggers, such as button presses, motion detection, or other alarm events, and stores them on the Alarm.com platform.

The system supports both mechanical and digital doorbell chimes. For digital chimes, a Digital Doorbell Adapter is required to ensure proper functionality and prevent issues like constant ringing. The doorbell camera operates on the home's Wi-Fi network, facilitating seamless integration with the Alarm.com ecosystem.
