This document provides a clear and simple quick start guide for the Alcatel PULSEMIX™ device, covering its features, setup, and various functionalities.
The Alcatel PULSEMIX™ is a smartphone designed for ease of use. The front of the device features a proximity and light sensor, a headset port, a flash, and a speaker. The camera lens is located near the top, alongside a light indicator and the status and notification bar. On the side, you'll find the volume keys and the power key. The main interaction with the device is through its touch screen. At the bottom of the screen, there are three navigation keys: the Back key, Home key, and Recent apps key. A charging data port is also located at the bottom.
To set up the phone, first, remove the back cover by gently pulling up on the indentation on the bottom left. Once the cover is off, insert the SIM card and microSD card as shown in the illustration, ensuring they are properly secured. It's crucial to use only a standard nano-SIM card provided by your service provider to avoid damaging the phone. The battery is non-removable, so do not attempt to disassemble, damage, alter, or remove it.
Navigating the Alcatel PULSEMIX™ is intuitive. You can interact with the screen by tapping with your fingertip. Quick flicks of your finger allow you to swipe up, down, left, and right to move through content. To go back to the previous screen, tap the Back key. The Home key will always return you to the main home screen. To access recently viewed apps, tap the Recent apps key. To view all applications installed on your phone, tap the Apps icon.
The notification panel provides access to alerts, including new messages, emails, and software updates. To view the Notifications panel, tap the top of the home screen and drag your finger down. You can clear individual notifications by swiping right or left, or clear all notifications by tapping "CLEAR ALL." With the notification panel open, dragging down from the top of the screen again will reveal the Quick Settings menu. To access the complete Settings menu, tap the Settings icon.
The Alcatel PULSEMIX™ allows for extensive personalization to make your device feel unique.
Set Wallpaper: To change your home or lock screen wallpaper, press and hold a blank part of the home screen and tap "WALLPAPERS." You can then select a pre-installed wallpaper or tap "My photos" for additional options. Once you've chosen, tap "Set wallpaper" to apply it.
Add to Home Screen: To add app shortcuts, tap "Apps," then press and hold the desired app and drag it to your home screen. To add widgets, press and hold a blank section of the screen, tap "WIDGETS," then press and hold the desired widget and drag it to the preferred location on your home screen.
Organize Home Screens: Widgets and app shortcuts can be moved by pressing and holding them, then dragging them to a new location. To delete an item, drag it to "X Remove." You can create folders by pressing and holding an app shortcut and dragging it on top of another. To rename a folder, tap the folder title and type a new name. For additional changes to the home screen, such as adjusting grid view, icon size, or text, press and hold a blank section of the home screen and tap "HOME EDIT."
Make a Call: From the home screen, tap the "Call" icon. You can type a name or phone number directly. Alternatively, you can manually enter a phone number, choose from frequently called contacts, select from a list of people you've recently called or who have called you, or make a call from your contacts list.
Check Voicemail: To check your voicemail, tap the "Call" icon from the home screen, then tap the voicemail icon, and finally press and hold the '1' key.
Call Waiting: Call waiting allows you to answer a second call while you are already on an existing call. You will hear a tone if another call comes in. You can tap the incoming call to answer, tap to switch between active calls, tap to merge calls, or tap to end a call.
HD Voice: HD Voice provides clearer conversations with reduced background noise when both participants are using HD Voice compatible phones and the call is made over Cricket's LTE network or a compatible network. Note that Cricket's LTE coverage is not equivalent to its overall network coverage, and HD Voice calls may not experience an HD Voice connection during times of network congestion. Other carriers' networks may interoperate with Cricket's LTE network to support an HD voice call.
Send a Text Message: From the home screen, tap "Messaging." Tap "New message" to start a new text. In the "To" field, enter a number or a contact name, or tap "Contacts" to access your contacts. Tap the "Type message" field, enter your message, and then tap "Send."
Send a Picture Message: Follow the steps for sending a text message. Then, tap the "Paperclip" icon. Tap "Pictures" and select the desired picture, or tap the camera icon to take a new picture to attach. Finally, tap "Send." Remember: Please don't text and drive.
Email Setup (Gmail™, Yahoo!®, etc.): From the home screen, tap "Apps," then "Email." Enter your email address and tap "NEXT," then enter your password and tap "NEXT" again. Confirm email account settings and tap "NEXT." Enter your name, which will be displayed on outgoing mails, and then tap "FINISH." For corporate email setup, contact your IT administrator.
Create and Send an Email Message: From the home screen, tap "Apps," then "Email." To compose a new message, tap "Compose." Tap the "To" field and enter an email address or name, or tap "Contacts" to access your contacts. Enter a subject and your email message. To attach files, tap the "Paperclip" icon and make your selection. Finally, tap "Send" to send the message.
