WARNING: AlcoSense is a sensitive measurement device. Performing a breath
test less than 10 minutes after drinking risks blowing high levels of alcohol
directly from your mouth into the system which could permanently damage
the sensor and cause the system to read inaccurately. Blood alcohol levels
can continue to rise for up to 90 minutes after drinking, as a result we only
recommend using the Breathalyser after this time (and ideally the morning
after) to ensure your reading will not increase after you test yourself. Do not
blow directly into the blow hole without a blow tube – this can damage the
sensor and significantly reduce the lifetime of your unit.

    • S
      Sarah AndradeJul 27, 2025
If your AlcoSense Test Equipment displays 'Calibration Expired' or 'Calibration Due', it means the 12-month calibration period is either approaching its end or has already passed. To resolve this, you should contact us to arrange for the unit's recalibration.

Why do I get different results on my AlcoSense Test Equipment?
    • D
      David BeardAug 2, 2025
The most accurate reading on your AlcoSense Test Equipment is the first one. When performing subsequent tests within a few minutes, the alcohol levels in your lungs may not have stabilized after the initial test. Therefore, it's recommended to use the breathalyzer at least 90 minutes after drinking, or ideally, the following morning.

    • H
      Holly GreenAug 9, 2025
If your AlcoSense Test Equipment displays 'Saturation Lockdown', it indicates an abnormally high level of alcohol was detected. After the specified lockdown period concludes, your unit should resume normal operation.

Why does my AlcoSense Test Equipment show positive if I haven't drunk alcohol?
    • S
      Shawn LynchAug 14, 2025
A positive reading on your AlcoSense Test Equipment, despite not consuming alcohol, could be due to testing within 10 minutes of eating strong foods, using dental products, chewing gum, smoking, or the body releasing acetone/ketones during the metabolism of acetoacetic acid. If you experience this problem please call us.

What to do if AlcoSense Test Equipment gives strange results after many tests?
    • A
      Angela RodriguezAug 20, 2025
If you've performed numerous tests in quick succession and received an unusual result on your AlcoSense Test Equipment, it could be due to a build-up of breath condensation inside the breathalyzer. This can cause temporary inaccuracies until the condensation evaporates. To prevent this, allow a minimum of 3 minutes between tests, do not perform more than 10 tests in one hour, and no more than 30 tests in 24 hours. Always use a new mouthpiece for each test.
