− Familiarise yourself with your environment before starting work. Be
aware of your environment during work. Be aware of potential hazards
that you may not be able to hear because of the noise of the product.
− Stand firmly when using the product. This is particularly important if you
are stood on uneven ground or a ladder or similar whilst working.
− Always guide the product with both hands when working.
− Walk slowly when holding the product in your hand. Do not run.
− Be careful when walking backwards. There is a risk of tripping.
− The pressure switches must not be fixed.
− Keep all body parts away from running cutting blades. Do not reach into
the running cutting blades.
− Never touch the cutter bar of the product.
− Do not wear any loose clothing which could get caught in the cutting
blades.
− Wear sturdy shoes and protective gloves.
− Wear protective goggles when working to prevent flying plant parts get-
ting into your eyes and damaging them.
− Switch the product off, wait until the cutting blades stop and remove the
battery before cleaning the product, checking for damage, servicing or
removing any objects trapped between the cutting blades. Accidentally
starting the cutting blades can cause severe cuts or lacerations.
− Stop using the product immediately and remove the battery if the cutting
blades are jammed by cuttings or other foreign objects.
− Wear protective gloves when removing cuttings or other foreign objects
stuck between the cutting blades.
