4. When using MIDI Bank Select commands to remotely change banks on the
DG8, internal Primary and Layer sounds are MIDI Bank 1, Bass sounds are
MIDI Bank 2 and Card sounds are MIDI Bank 3. Card sounds are always
MIDI Bank 3 regardless of whether they are used as a Primary, Layer or Split.
Pedals
The DG8 transmits and receives pedal messages in accordance with the MIDI
Specification: Sustain Pedal is assigned Controller #64, Sostenuto Pedal is assigned
Controller #66 and Soft Pedal is assigned Controller #67.
Care must be taken when you are sending the DG8 MIDI Pedal messages. If you are
playing the DG8 from a MIDI master that only has a sustain pedal, it will most likely
be sending Controller #64. So if you intend to use the Soft Pedal function, for
example, you will need to change your master to transmit the Soft Pedal message
(MIDI Controller #67) instead of Sustain Pedal (MIDI Controller #64).
