The zigzag stitch is one of the most common and
versatile stitches. It can be a utility stitch for button
sewing,
buttonhole making, hemming, overcasting, mend-
ing and darning.
It can also be used to decorate with trims, appli-
ques and cut work, or as a decorative stitch.
Basic Zigzag
Stitch selector: 4 - 6
Needle thread tension: 2 to 5
Presser foot: Zigzag foot
This stitch is useful in garment construction, and in
finishing the raw edges of any sewing project.
Start overcasting about 1/8”(0.3 cm) inside the raw
corner of a seam. The right tip of the stitch should
just clear the seam edge.

This stitch is used to finish the seam allowance on
synthetics and other fabrics that tend to pucker.
Place your fabric to allow a 1.6 cm (5/8") seam.
Trim the seam allowance after sewing.
It is also handy for darning and mending tears.
Note :
Be careful not to cut the stitches.

La puntada de zig-zag es una de las puntadas más
comunes y más versátiles. Es una puntada de servicio
para pegar botones, hacer ojales, para dobladillos,
puntada sobrepuesta, para remendar y para zurcir.
También puede ser utilizada para decorar con ribetes,
aplicaciónes y como puntada decorativa.

Muy útil en la construcción de prendas y para sobrehilar
o rematar bordes brutos en cualquier proyecto de
costura.
Empiece a rematar un 0,3 cm (1/8”) dentro del borde
bruto. Si empieza a coser justo al borde, la tela se
arrugará y las puntadas quedarán mal cruzadas.

Esta puntada es usada para terminar el margen de costura
que se deja en telas sintéticas y otras telas que tienden a
fruncirse.
Coloque la tela y deje un borde de 1.6 cm (5/8") para la
costura.
Recorte el margen de costura después de coser.
También es útil para zurcir y remendar.
Nota:
Tenga cuidado de no cortar las puntadas.
