3.3COLDWEATHERSTARTS
Ifavehicleisstartedincoldambientconditionsbelow-5°C(23°F),the
transmissionwillbelimitedto2(SecondRange),N(Neutral),andR(Reverse)
operation(3(ThirdRange)forthe4700/4800transmission)untilthesump
temperatureexceeds-1°C(30°F).Oncethesumptemperaturereachesthis
threshold,normaloperationwillresumeforthetransmission.
Ifthetransmissionuidtemperatureisbelow10°C(50°F)followthese
procedureswhenmakingdirectionalshiftchanges:
Toshiftfromforwardtoreverse,selectN(Neutral)andthenR(Reverse).
Toshiftfromreversetoforward,selectN(Neutral)andthenD(Drive)or
otherforwardrange.
NOTE:Duringcolduidconditions,alwaysplacethetransmissionin
N(Neutral)priortoanydirectionchanges.
