FEATURES
REMOTE
EQUALIZER
The
3339
consists
of
a
control
unit
and
a
base
unit
(black
box).
Only
the
control
unit
needs
to
be
accessible
by
the
user.
The
base
unit,
connected
to
the
control
unit
by
its
communication
cable,
can
be
hidden
anywhere.
OPTIONAL
REMOVABILITY
The
3339
can
be
made
removable
using
the
Alpine
4932
Din-sized,
in-dash
mounting
kit.
PREAMP/GRAPHIC
EQUALIZER
&
ACTIVE
DIVIDING
NETWORK
The
input
signal
is
divided
into
several
frequency
bands
for
precise
adjustment
of
the
frequency
response.
The
signal
can
be
divided
into
low
pass
and
high
pass
using
the
built-in,
switchable
active
dividing
network.
Front,
Rear
and
Subwoofer
outputs
are
then
fed
to
external
signal
processors
and
amplifiers.
SPECTRUM
ANALYZER
The
3339
features
a
Spectrum
display.
This
display
can
be
configured
in
twenty
four
different
patterns.
The
signal
strength
(level)
of
each
one
of
the
11
equalization
bands
are
displayed
graphically.
This
feature
provides
a
visual
reference
of
how
a
certain
source
material
is
recorded
and
what
changes
may
be
necessary
in
correcting
its
frequency
response
deficiencies.
SUBWOOFER
OUTPUT
The
3339's
Subwoofer
Output
is
activated
when
the
internal
active
dividing
network
is
turned
on.
This
turns
the
front
and
rear
outputs
to
a
high-pass,
crossed
over
at
80
Hz.
The
Subwoofer
Output
is
low-pass,
also
crossed
over
at
80
Hz.
Both
high
and
low
pass
sections
have
a
slope
of
18
dB
per
octave.
SUBWOOFER
LEVEL
CONTROL
The
subwoofer
Output
level
can
be
adjusted
to
compensate
for
different
sub-bass
contents
of
different
source
material
or
different
ambient
conditions
(for
example
stand-still
versus
freeway
driving).
SUBWOOFER
PHASE
SWITCH
Reverses
the
phase
of
the
Subwoofer
Output
signal.
This
feature,
when
offered
with
an
18
dB
per
octave
crossover,
can
prevent
suck-out
at
the
crossover
point,
caused
by
the
phase
changes
inherent
in
an
active
dividing
network.
Bottom
line
is
better
bass
in
certain
applications.
SOUND
FIELD
EXPANDER
(S.F.E.)
Is
a
3
mode
signal
processor
that
enhances
the
separation
between
the
right
and
left
channels
in
order
to
simulate
a
bigger
listening
area
(than
the
interior
of
a
car).
DYNAMIC
RANGE
CONTROLLER
(D.R.C.)
Reduces
the
dynamic
range
of
the
signal
source
(such
as
CD)
in
order
to
overcome
road
noise
or
limitations
of
the
rest
of
the
audio
system.
USER
PROGRAMMABLE
PRESETS
The
3339
has
four
memory
locations
that
can
store
equalizer
settings
for
future
use.
