Alpine’s premier tuner — utilizes a number of innovations to ensure stable, noise- e-free
FM reception in both strong and weak signal areas.
QUICK RELEASE BRACKET (Q.R.B.) es as
Alpine’s exclusive Q.R.B. design allows for easy nei at the 7290M, while stil
maintaining memory backup. The 7290M may then be hidden elsewhere in the car or
carried with the owner for theft prevention. This bracket also provides for easy re-
installation of the unit.
- IGNITION “KEY-OFF” PAUSE
The tape disengages from the tape head, capstan, and pinch roller when the ignition is
turned off, but it remains inside the cassette compartment.
AUTO METAL
When a metal cassette tape is inserted, the tape mechanism automatically adjusts to
metal tape equalization.
TAPE PAUSE .
When activated, the tape disengages from the tape head, capstan, and pinch roller,
but remains inside the cassette compartment. The mode switches automatically from
! tape to radio.
AUTO TUNE SELECT SWITCH
This switch is for selecting between the SEEK and MANUAL Tuning modes.
AUTO UP/DOWN SEEK
Automatically tunes to the next higher frequency or lower frequency and locks on that
station.
PRESET ADDRESS
The preset number is displayed in the LCD, next to its assigned station frequency (in
the radio mode).
SELECTABLE FADER
This system allows you to select either the pre-amp or power amp fader mode. The
pre-amp fader controls the signal level in the pre-amp stage for two amplifiers, and the
power amp fader balances the front and rear speaker sound in a four-speaker system.
