The Altec Lansing Power Duo (ABT385) is a Bluetooth® tower speaker set designed to deliver powerful audio with deep bass. This 2.0 channel system boasts 240 Watts of power (RMS) and 240 W (PMPO) total, making it suitable for various audio needs, including TV entertainment. The system includes two tower speakers: a main speaker and a satellite speaker.

Assembly and Setup:

  1. Speaker Connection: Connect the satellite speaker to the main speaker using the attached cable. This cable has two plugs that connect to the "Output Port" and "Light Port" on the rear view of the main speaker.
  2. Power Connection: Once the speakers are connected, insert the power cable from the main speaker into an available power outlet.
  3. Audio Input: Plug external audio devices into the appropriate ports on the main speaker:
    • ARC: For HDMI Audio Return Channel from a TV.
    • OPTICAL: For optical digital audio input from devices like TVs, DVD players, or CD players.
    • SRC 1 & SRC 2: For line level or headphone output from other audio sources.

Operating Instructions:

  • Power On/Off: Use the power button on the remote control or the front control panel.
  • Bluetooth Pairing:
    1. Power on the speakers.
    2. Press the "BT" button on the remote control or the "Source" button on the front control panel to enter Bluetooth mode.
    3. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings, ensure Bluetooth is on, and connect to "ABT385."
  • Source Selection: Use the "BT ARC OPT," "SRC1," or "SRC2" buttons on the remote, or the "Source" button on the front control panel, to switch between audio inputs.
  • Volume Control: Adjust volume using the "VOL +" and "VOL -" buttons on the remote, or the "Volume +" and "Volume -" controls on the front panel.
  • Music Playback (Bluetooth/USB modes): Use the "Last Track," "Play/Pause," and "Next Track" buttons on the remote.
  • Light Modes: Press the "LIGHTS" button on the remote repeatedly to cycle through various light settings.
  • Tone Adjustment: Press the "TONE" button on the remote repeatedly to toggle between Bass and Treble settings. Use "Vol +" and "Vol -" to increase or decrease the selected setting.
  • Karaoke Function:
    • Plug microphones (not included) into the Mic1 and Mic2 input jacks on the side control panel.
    • Rotate the Mic1 and Mic2 volume knobs to adjust the volume for each microphone.
    • Rotate the "ECHO" knob to add vocal effects.

Speaker Placement:

For optimal sound, place one speaker directly to the left of your TV or computer monitor, and the other speaker directly to the right.
