Initial lighting procedure
2. Insure maximum airfl ow by opening the
grate and air valve. The ash pan should be
closed while adding wood. Please refer to
fi gure C.
1 Reduce the air resistance in the
smoke guide by opening the by-pass
valve. Lower the right-hand handle
to the rear of the stove.
3. Position fi relighters in the middle of the
grate. Build a pyramid of kindling around the
fi relighters. Light the fi relighters.
Choosing the right kindling (size and type)
allows heat to be generated more quickly.
Preferably use fi nely chopped lightwood. The
faster the stove reaches maximum temperature,
the faster circulation is established, and the less
soot and creosote is created. This keeps the
stove, smoke guide and environment clean.
