1 No fl ames, the wood has almost burnt
out.
To prevent smoke escaping when
adding wood to the stove, open the
by-pass valve. Initially, leave the door
slightly ajar and then open fully.
2 Add two to four blocks of wood of a
maximum of 1 kg each and of a proper
size. After adding wood, initially close
the door and then the by-pass valve.
When adding wood for the fi rst time,
also fully close the grate.
Do not use any other fuel than wood,
please refer to the chapter titled ‘Fuels’.

Only once the wood has burnt out and has formed a glowing mass should extra wood be
added.
