orMCinput.Facingthebackofthe
amplifier,movetheswitchtotherightfor
usewithMMorhighoutputMCcartridges
andtotheleftforusewithnormal(low
output)MCcartridges.
NeveroperatetheMM/MCselector
switchwiththevolumecontrolturnedup
astheresultantelectricalsurgemay
damageyourloudspeakers.

"Tapein"ontherearofyouramplifier
usingphono/phonoleads.Ifyourtape
machineprocessingDINoutputs,then
DIN/phonoleads,oraDIN/phonoadaptor
canbeused.Ifyouexperiencelevel
matchingproblemswhenusingDIN
connectors,pleaseconsultyourtape
machinemanufacturer.
Normallythepre-amplifierandpower
amplifiersectionsofthisunitare
connectedtogetherviafactory-installed
U-shapedmetaljumpersthatbridgethe
PRE-OUTandMAIN-INjacks.Checkto
besurethattheyarefullyinsertedinto
thejacksandthatnothingistouching
them.
ByswitchingOFFthepowerand
removingthemetaljumpers,youcan
connectasignalprocessorsuchasa
surround-sounddecoderoranelectronic
crossoverinthepathbetweenpreamp
andpoweramp.Connectacablefrom
PRE-OUTtotheprocessor'sinputanda
secondcablefromtheprocessor'soutput
toMAININ.
YourAMCamplifierisdesignedtodrive
loudspeakrswithanominalimpedanceof
4-8ohms.
However,XIAcanonlydrive4ohm
speakersbyswitchingtheimpedance
selectorontherearpaneloftheunitto
the4ohmsetting.
