The AMC A Series amplifier is a professional power amplifier designed for various applications, including live music, background music, conference sound systems, and other installations. These stereo power amplifiers are 1U high, slim, and feature a modern aesthetic. They are built to meet the increasing demand for low-power amplifiers in the installation market, offering complete protection functions and superior performance.
Function Description:
The A Series amplifiers are designed to amplify audio signals for output through loudspeakers. They operate in either stereo or bridge mode, providing flexibility for different sound system configurations. The front panel includes controls for power, individual channel level adjustments, and LED indicators for power, protection, signal presence, and clipping. The rear panel provides input and output connections, a mode selector switch, an AC voltage selector, and a fuse holder.

Common Specifications for A Series Amplifiers:
- Amplifier Protection: Full short circuit, open circuit, thermal. Stable into reactive or mismatched loads.
- Load Protection: Turn-on/off muting, current limiter.
- Power Requirements: Selectable: 115V AC 60Hz / 230V AC 50Hz.
- Connectors (each channel):
- Input: balanced Phoenix
- Output: Screw terminals
Usage Features:
- Front Panel Controls:
- Power switch: Turns the amplifier on/off.
- Channel level control: Adjusts the output level for each channel.
- Front Panel Indicators:
- Power LED indicator (Blue): Illuminates when the power is turned "ON".
- Protection LED indicator (Red): Illuminates if the power amplifier's output connection is shorted or the load impedance is too low. If this LED lights up, turn OFF the device and check output connections.
- Channel signal LED indicator (Green): Illuminates when an input signal greater than 100 mV is present.
- Channel clipping LED indicator (Red): Illuminates when the amplifier output is within 3dB of clipping. Occasional blinking is acceptable, but if the LED lights on more than intermittently, turn down either the power amplifier level or reduce the output level of the preceding component to avoid audible distortion.
- Rear Panel Controls/Connectors:
- Input connectors: Balanced phoenix connectors for audio input.
- Mode selector switch: Allows selection between stereo and bridge amplifier configurations. In bridge mode, the minimum loudspeaker impedance should not be less than 8Ω.
- Output connectors: Screw terminal speaker connectors.
- AC voltage selector switch: Sets the proper voltage for the operating area (~115V (60Hz) or ~230V (50Hz)).
- AC power connector: For connecting the power supply.
- Stereo/Bridge Mode: Provides flexibility for different sound system setups.
- Roadworthy, rugged double rack space (1U) housing: Ensures durability and ease of installation in standard equipment racks.
- Balanced phoenix connectors, screw terminal speaker connectors: Offer secure and reliable connections.
- DC and thermal overload protection: Safeguards the amplifier from damage due to excessive DC voltage or overheating.
- Short circuit and speaker protection: Protects the amplifier and connected speakers from damage in case of a short circuit.
Maintenance Features:
- Fuses: Fuse holders are provided for T2A-6.3A/250V (A100) or T10A/250V (A200) for 115V, and T2A/250V (A100) or T5A/250V (A200) for 230V. If these fuses continuously blow, the unit should be shut off and serviced by qualified personnel.
- Fans: Two variable speed fans are included for cooling. The fan speed varies automatically to maintain the proper internal operating temperature, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Safety Precautions: The device is designed with safety in mind, including warnings against electric shock and instructions to refer servicing to qualified personnel for internal repairs. Users are advised not to remove the cover to reduce the risk of electric shock.
- Environmental Considerations: Users are cautioned against exposing the apparatus to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing liquids, and placing objects filled with liquids on the device. It should also be located away from heat sources.
